Not to be overzealous here but, guys, 20 days to go until decisions! (Assuming that Pomona will keep up its tradition of releasing decisions the Friday before the 15th).
I am just dying to find out (and I am almost to the point where I want to know even if it is a denial, so I can be heartbroken for a bit and move on).
With those here picking Pomona as their ED choice, am wondering what other colleges made your top five? And if there was a special reason Pomona won out?
The saddest part is that Pomona is so unique and fits my interests/needs so well that I legitimately don’t have a real second choice. Diversity, laid-back attitude, SoCal where I spent my earlier childhood in, proportionally large research, generous financial aid for me, outdoor proximity location, and a small size yet also having the rest of the Claremont Consortium. Currently looking at Brown, but other than that, I haven’t found a college that remotely interests me like Pomona.
@IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII I genuinely felt the same way about Pomona for so long (and a part of me still feels this way to this day). It can certainly be an overwhelming passion as the admission to the “one and only perfect fit” seems to be hanging by a thread.
But hey, if there’s one thing I learned in my short existence, it is that life is what you make of it. To every school I visit, I try my very best to envision myself there, and I am sure all of us can be happy elsewhere. Afterall, happiness is internal. Also, after knowing that Brown has a Pho bar (which has a slight edge over Pomona’s omelette bar), I am once more hopeful of the possibilities in the regular round (who can tell I am a foodie).
Hey everyone! I am applying to Pomona ED and am sooo nervous. I wish you all the best of luck!!
Quick question – My hs allows students to send quarter grades to colleges, but I heard that Pomona only requests grades from some applicants. Should I just send in my grades or wait to see if they ask for them?
@abx1300
I have the same question! I would think it is better to be safe than sorry and if your quarter grades are good, extra information would not hurt.
Anyone who knows?
My school just goes ahead and automatically sends everyone’s first quarter grades to every ed1 school, so mine were sent 3 weeks ago. I don’t think it will be a problem at all to send them especially if they are good.
@enenalal I dont even see a disciplinary form on my portal. the only thing on my portal that is from my counselor is the secondary school report, transcript, and maybe if her letter is lumped in with the teacher evaluations. i think my application checklist shrunk or something
@jcocc I am wondering about the same thing!!! The historical data has been very consistent with the Friday before 15th theory but I don’t know if this year’s natural disasters and the deadline extensions would change it. I swear, if Pomona lets me wait an additional week, I would lose my mind! AHAHAHAH.
it HAS to come out on the friday before the 15th!! I CANNOT WAIT ANY LONGER whether i get accepted or rejected, I just want to know the results. I can’t wait for the announcement to be up on twitter…ahhHGGHH
Are any of you applying to UC’s here? If so, what’s your first choice UC? if I don’t get into pomona, i rly hope to get into LA / SD. I reaaaaally like the majors in UCLA and UCSD! I honestly like SD better than LA, but they are both amazing places to be in
@Quiches, I requested one a month ago and had mine today. It may take some time depending on where you live and what admissions decision you are applying for.
