I recently applied ED to Pomona, and have seen a few threads on here that say that Pomona starts to ask for ED applicants’ “quarter reports” around the beginning of December. My school does not have this, but is this the equivalent of a progress report? And can anybody speak to the validity of these requests or are they just heresy?

I would say yeah probably equivalent to a progress report. it’s just all the grades you’ve gotten so far for the first quarter of your senior year.
and as for the significance, I’ve read a lot of past Pomona ED threads, and basically there isn’t necessarily a relationship between request for quarter grades and admissions. people who never got a request for quarter grades have gotten accepted, while others have gotten deferred or rejected. same goes with people whose quarter grades were requested by pomona. so I wouldn’t sweat it if pomona emails your guidance counselor asking for quarter grades or not. it definitely doesn’t mean acceptance neither does it mean rejection!
