Pomona Interview

Hello,
I am an international student from Singapore. I am arranged to meet an alumni for interview on Nov 4.
Could someone kindly tell how pomona interview is going to be like plz? And how can I prepare for it? Tks so much!

the pomona interview is very conversational. the interviewer will most likely build on the things you say and ask questions about the things that you mention in answers in previous questions. they just wanna know your strengths and weaknesses are and how you have worked to overcome the obstacles, mostly in school work.

Thank you! Will interviewer ask something very specific to Pomona, to test how much i know about the school?

You won’t be quizzed about Pomona per se, but you should be prepared with a few questions about the school that (1) demonstrate your own interest in Pomona and (2) can’t be answered by info on the website or in the viewbook. Basically, think about what attracts you to or excites you about Pomona and ask for additional information about those things.

Good luck!

My son was asked something like, “Why do you value a liberal arts education?” during his interview.

My son wasn’t all that happy with his response but he was still accepted at Pomona.

I would say relax. They just want to chat and get to know you.

Okay. Thanks so much!
