Hi i am a male and i am finishing up my undergraduate in Excersise Sport Science with a minor in biology, and i have a 3.5 gpa. My pre-requisite gpa is a 4.0, but my overall is bad due to bad grades my freshman year (like many people). But i got a score of 37 on my MCAT, and was wondering what people think. Do yall think it is possible to get in somewhere like Harvard or Johns Hopkins, or Baylor with the GPAs and the MCAT score i have. Thanks for the responses.

Very low chance. Many people with same mcat scores, but better gpa in majors that sound harder than exercise sport science.

Why are you worried about med school ranking. All US MD schools are VERY good. Apply sensibly.

What state are you in?

I’m in Texas

So you’d rather pay $50+K for tuition instead of $14K-$16K? Really? Texas kids have 7 great publics (soon to be 8 in 2016), and Baylor takes ~70-75% from IS. As for your chances, I can’t comment; however, I agree that ALL med schools are great, and you should count yourself among the lucky 45% to gain any acceptance. I certainly wouldn’t concern myself with rankings.

I suspect this is a hypothetical MCAT score. For that matter, I suspect it’s also a hypothetical GPA.

@BDM Yes it is highly unlikely to have a 3.5 cumulative GPA and a 4.0 prerequisite GPA. Depending on the quality of your extracurricular activities, you may have some chance of being accepted to a top 20 school.

A 3.8 UW GPA and a 36 MCAT score is average if anyone is wondering.
