I am in my freshman year but had to leave due to medical reasons but will be back in the Spring. My experience at George Mason wasn't the greatest, but the College of Science seemed tight knit and the classes seemed great. But, I'm looking at transferring to Virginia Commonwealth or University of Richmond. VCU seems to have more of a vibrant campus life and they have a medical center that gives great opportunities for research and volunteer work. University of Richmond has prestige and is small; hence, better chance to get one on one attention with professors, won't have to battle hundreds of students for help, plus it has a beautiful campus. Now, my concerns. VCU has a rep for being overcrowded and populated with students who don't really care about their education, and everything is so spread out that there is no true community feeling. U of R is expensive and people have told me people there are very snobbish and clique-y. I might just stay at GMU just because I don't have to worry about transferring of credits but...I was miserable there. Can anyone give some insight on these colleges?
