<p>My daughter took the PSAT in the fall. How do we know whether she is commended or not? We haven't heard anything, so I will assume it means she isn't, but it seemed that her percentile was in the 97% range and she was not asterisked. Do we find out next September? We live in Illinois. Anyone?</p>
<p>@irishcali....if she is commended she should be getting a packet inviting her to submit two colleges she would like the collegeboard to reccomend her to. This packet should arrive this month and it is given to anyone who is commended or higher.</p>

<p>Wait, should our school be telling us if we got a NMS chance of being a semi-finalist? Or do they send us something in the mail? Hopefully it's the school because we are just getting back from spring break and I really hope that I got it. My score was a 213 and I live in FL, 98%. Doesn't it help if you live in a dumber state since they have to meet a quota for each state (yes, FL is really dumb)? Or is that something someone made up?</p>
<p>Have you all already recieved notification? I got a letter from national merit saying I was one of the highest 500,000, but I really doubt that means anything in national merit standing.</p>
