Post here if you are going to be commended or a semifinalist. Give your score.

238, CA, 99 percentile, semifinalist

my teacher's sitting on the reports and won't give them back

nice job everyone

217 California. Should be commended, hoping for semi (last year was 216).

Not bad for sleeping at 2am and having a football game the night before...

219 TX, hopefully a Semi-finalist! 216 was apparently the cut-off so I think Im ok. 99th%

New Jersey: 228, junior year. 99% percentile. I think the cut-off for Semi-Finalist is 222 in my state.

What college is everybody here going to? Which ones give scholarships for NM Finalists (enough to not have to worry about paying for tuition)? Do you think I could qualify for some?

genghiskhan, there are many state colleges that give you a full ride if you make finalist and you'd definitely qualify if you get finalist (something that, I've heard) isn't hard to do.

212 Wisconsin
The cutoff is usually around 210. I think 209 2 years ago and 211 last year. Does anyone know what my chances for Semi-Finalist look like?

207, 97th percentile, would that be commended for FL?

Matilli, yes it would be. The cutoff'll probably be around 203 this year. It's the same for everyone in the nation (cutoff for commended).

neither commended nor semi- not an american citizen

that sucks primeminister. Hey, at least you proved yourself.

Most likely will be semi-finalist. Last year it was either 213 or 215. Can't remember.

215, MI, 99 percentile, NMSF

Our school took the PSAT on November 2 (a "make up" day) since our school was on "fall break" during the normal Wed/Sat test days.

I blew the Critical reading portion -- When I get down to 2 choices I often picked the wrong one!! What is the secret for this????

Anyways, got a 213 which may be okay for Alabama if the cutoff doesn't go up more than one point from last year (GC says it was 212 last year but this website says differently). (I Hope, I hope, I hope.....)

Have the curves been posted yet???? I have only seen guesses at the curves.

It looks like the division between 99 percentile and 98% percentile is around index 214 or 215 (anyone know). Also, does anyone know what the division between 99 and 98 was in previous years. This may help determine where some states' cutoffs will be (I know that this theory many not apply to the high cutoff states).
Also, does anyone know if there is a listing for how many juniors from each state actually took the PSAT last fall. GC says that each state gets an equal percentage of each state's total taking the test.

Which colleges offer the best scholarships (and perhaps including room and board) to NMSF?

Thanks.

DS texas 215. probably commended, unless the gods smile on us and the index drops 2 points.

My friend got a 215 and he was 99th %ile.

My son was 98%ile and index score was 211. So, in California, it looks like he missed the cutoff by quite a bit. Oh well, I'm still very proud of him!
