finish rereading The Fountainhead (I'm about halfway through)
Lolita like the rest of you, but not for school
A Separate Peace (I feel like a dork because I haven't read it yet)
Jane Eyre or Emma, depending on my mood
and maybe some James Patterson in between

And The Perks of Being a Wallflower is AWESOME.

You guys must be quick readers. I'm having trouble finishing Pride and Prejudice (soooooo boring) - I'm only up to the middle of the book and it has been 5 months.
I've also completed 4/5 of this book called "into the wilderness" - it's pretty interesting but it took me 2 months to read 4/5 of the book!
I usually read for like only 20min right before I sleep though.. maybe that's why?

'Lolita' is amazing

'Cry, the Beloved Country' isn't wonderful (in my opinion) but it's a good read. We have this big joke in my book club about reading it--my teacher always wants us to and for the last 2 years we've shot her down (of course, now everyone has read it).

I need to finish the Book of Salt (amazing book). The rest of the list:

-Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
-The Fountainhead (just for that Ayn Rand contest)
-The Inheritance of Loss by Kiran Desai
-Utopia (More)
-The Communist Manifesto
-Something for lit (either Poisonwood Bible or Prince of Tides)

By January Twelfth:
The Communist Manifesto
Pygmalion
Heart of Darkness
A Passage to India
Something by Orwell
Cry, the Beloved Country
My Name Is Asher Lev (Or Davita's Heart...I'm not sure)

wow, so many people are reading jane eyre - suprisingly, i have to finish that for ap english as well, as long with doing a TON of poetry analysis that won't be fun... (yay shakespeare.)

i might start the fountainhead since i have a freebie copy my english teacher gave out because apparently its like a cult now and they like giving free boxes of books to our school. lol.

To whoever said Asher Lev...CHAIM POTOK IS AMAZING. He is my favourite author of all time, even though he's not regarded as classically literary. He writes characters so beautifully. "The Chosen" and "the Promise" are my favourites, but I really liked Davita's Harp. I fell in love with Michael, Ilanna's father. My Name Is Asher Lev is also very very good too.

I was so upset when I had completed reading all of his works. :(

I started reading that book in eighth grade. Now I'm a junior, and I still haven't finished it. I'm somewhere around page 400. Which is roughly a third of the book.

Are you reading The Other Boleyn Girl for school, or just for fun?

Thats a really good book. I've reread it quite a few times. I've read her other books too, and I'm getting the Boleyn Inheritance for Christmas, can't wait to read it! :)

Another book that is similiar to The Other Boleyn Girl is The Last Boleyn by Karen Harper. Its pretty good, I think I like the other one better though.

Uhhh, I don't know what I'm reading during Christmas break... Probably some books I get for Christmas. Nothing is assigned for school - well I'm moving & transfering schools so I really don't know :P
