So UVA being the first early app I turned in, I was stupid and didnt realize that you had to turn in all the different parts of the common app seperately, So I went to the payment option, turned it in, and thought that I was good. A few minutes later though, I saw a yellow square mark on my supplemental material and found out that I was NOT good. I pressed the submit button on my supplements and everything else, but it was already 12:05 by then and I was late. So basically, my payment and school forms were on time, but my supplement and apps weren't. Will UVA strike me for this/will it affect my admissions? I'm just glad that UVA was the first app I turned in and that I learned my lesson. If this happened to my Georgetown or MIT application I would be dying...

You picked a good year to be tardy. Because of Hurricane Sandy, UVa (and many other schools) extended their deadline a few days.

Consider this an important life lesson about not waiting until the last minute.

RMLDAD is right. Talk about lucky Schlaag. Some schools allow a few things to be a tad late, for example if a recommendation letter is post-marked by the date, but doesn’t arrive till several days thereafter.

In your case, I personally think they would be understanding.
