Potential colleges for an Out of State "B" Student.

I'm going to be a senior this year and will start applying to schools very soon. I'm curious as to what good schools I have a good chance into getting accepted to. I'm looking at schools more in the northwest/west area, but I am open to schools east of the U.S as well. Won't lie I do really want to go to UW but seems kind of a long shot. By the way I live in Salt Lake City, Utah.
During my freshman year of high school I really messed up and got nothing higher than a 2.7 GPA. On the other hand during my sophomore and junior year I was able to maintain over a 3.5 GPA throughout the year and finished last quarter of junior year with a 3.9. So right now my cumulative GPA is at a 3.29. I have taken 4 credits worth of Honor Classes and AP/IB Music Theory so far and I'm schedule for AP Biology and AP Psychology for my senior year. I'm also enrolled in concurrent Math and English which is through the community college and I get college credit for.
Besides that I have been involved with SpyHop Productions and volunteer to play shows on the local radio. I also have done debate for two years and involved with Planned Parenthood's teen council for this year.
I took both the ACT and SAT but scored poorly because I took them blind. I got a 20 on my ACT and SAT score of 1350. I do plan to take them again and score higher since I been studying for them this summer.
So as you see I have been doing a lot better than before. So tell me this college confidential, what good 4 year institutions do you think I have a chance of getting into?

With your scores you might have a hard time getting into even the U of U, which is by the way, as a former Utahn actually a comparable school to a lot of the well known state schools. I would try to improve on my test scores if I was you, because when you go out of state, it is as important as a GPA. You could try University of Oklahoma, LSU, Mizzou, and maybe Colorado at Boulder as well as OSU, but schools like Michigan, Indiana-Bloomington Amherst and Wisconsin may be reaches.

Will you need financial aid to be able to attend an OOS public university?

What about Arizona State? The 2013 acceptance rate was something like 85%. The ACT range for 25%-75% was 21-27. If you re-take the ACT and can get your score up to even a 24 or 25, you’d be in the middle of the pack. Here’s a link to ASU’s 2012-2013 CDS:

http://uoia.asu.edu/sites/default/files/common/Common_Data_Set_2012-2013.pdf

Yes I will need financial aid for sure, I’m sure my test scores will also be a little more higher since I have been studying this summer.

It is unlikely that you will get ANY aid at OSS publics with those scores and grades.

Check out U of U, it’s a great school, I my self as a student with a lot of options thinks its great.

What would you say would be a good test score for going out of state?

Out of the 10 schools in Utah that have the IB program I go to Hillcrest and am also planning on taking AP Psychology this year. Would be kinda weird if that’s where you go as well…

Try to get 1800+ or 27+ if you want to go out of state. For merit aid: 30+ or 1400+(M+R).

You there TC?
