I'm a high school senior intending to major in Computer Science. I had planned to graduate this summer and begin college in the fall, transferring to Georgia Tech two years later, but I realized I could get pretty much the same courses that I would take for my freshman year if I got credit for AP courses instead.
So now I'm thinking of completing most of my freshman year through APs, completing my sophomore year at GSU, and transferring to Tech in my Junior year.

I do have a few questions about this that I hope someone can help out with:

I checked GSU's B.S. in Computer Science suggested curriculum, and saw that instead of Calc III/MV Calculus, they recommend Math 3030, Math Models for Computer Sci( See Course Catalog), which transfers to Math 1522, Linear Algebra for Calc at Georgia Tech. GSU doesn't even reach Calc III from what I can tell, although I guess you can choose to take the course. Georgia Tech recommends Calc III for Computer Scientists. If normal Calc III would work for Tech, could I just take the class over there from GSU? Or is Calc III even necessary?

About the one-term gap between when you finish classes and when you can actually transfer, if I were to be accepted for fall 2013 at Georgia Tech and finish my sophomore year that summer, that means I would have to stay at GSU until spring 2014?

If I do transfer in 2014, would those final 1 1/2 years at Tech give me enough time to finish my choice of threads? I'm not sure which ones I'll pick yet, but I do want to do something more practical than theoretical. Are the first 2-2 1/2 years the same for all CS majors, regardless of threads?

Looking at the transfer equivalencies chart, it looks like a lot of the CS courses at GSU aren't transferable to Tech. Would this make my application less competitive?

I've heard that Georgia Tech recommends CS transfers retake the introductory CS courses. For me, that would mean either retaking another semester of courses, or keep progressing in the series of courses. If i do the second option, would I be at a huge disadvantage from the other students?

If GSU doesn't seem like a good option, what are some other schools in the Atlanta area I could attend as a stepping stone to Georgia Tech? I had considered Georgia Perimeter, but their CS department doesn't have that many classes. If necessary, could I supplement the classes from GPC with classes from Georgia Tech while I'm in the process of transferring?

Thanks in advance for your help.
