Pre-med at Cornell?

How rigorous is it compared to other schools? How good is it as well? (it should be very good, since it is an ivy).

Also, if you are admitted into Cornell and complete their pre-med program, do you have a greater chance of being accepted into their medical school?

i heard that cornell has one of the highest premed acceptance rates to med schools or something

I heard that you are pretty much all set if you get above a 3.5 and do the other recommended stuff (ECs, etc.)

I found the exact statistic (from career services):

"In 2002 when there were fewer applicants; nationally and at Cornell, 81% of all Cornellians were accepted. In 2008 applications were up significantly and Cornell’s acceptance rate was 70%.

Eighty percent of those Cornellians with a GPA of 3.4 or better were accepted to medical school in 2008. Grade Point Average is one useful predictor of acceptance."

that % is for those who end up applying. i heard roughly 20% of the freshman premeds end up applying to med school, out of those with 3.4 and 30 mcat and above, over 80% get in.

ok thanks for the info
