Pre med at San Diego State or UC Davis?

I've been admitted to both and have adequate financial aid for both. Now I have to make a decision. I like SDSU better for several reasons (I.e. the big city, athletics, the beach, the weather, proximity to home) but I know that UC Davis is a much better school academically. My goal is to go to medical school after undergrad, so here are my questions:
1. Is Davis pre med just exponentially better than SDSU pre med?
2. Is medical school after hard work at SDSU a reasonable/attainable goal?
3. How exactly is the pre med advising at both schools?
4. Would I be bored to tears studying hard in a quiet town like Davis? (I'm from the city)

Yes

You would need exceedingly high grades and mcat, just to qualify

Bad (as it is at all California publics)

Only you can answer that question.

UC Davis does have a med school. The ability to shadow there and look for research, volunteer opportunities might be easier than SDSU. SDSU is HUGE!

Davis is well, Davis. Having lived in both San Diego, MB, OB, Mission Valley and RB, AND Davis, they are VASTLY different from each other. My kiddos loved Davis and San Diego, for all different reasons. But if you can find a “mentor”, especially in the family practice department of the med school you might find the best “advising” money could NEVER buy!

Davis has more bikes per capita than any other city. It is the “farm”. But there is always plenty to do and see but not in a so cal way. It is across the bridge from Sac and and hour and half from SF. HUGE differences is the cities and schools.

I would suggest a visit to both. But for pre-med I would pick UCD. Seriously. The only CSU I would chose over UCD would be Cal Poly SLO and more for pre-vet than pre-med.
