Ok so I should know this question considering how much time I spend lurking this website, but when people talk about whether or not they have completed their pre-reqs or not, where do they find the info on what a UC's pre-reqs are for that major? Are they just going off of Assist? Because assist is only a list of advised courses to complete, am I correct?

As far as I know Assist.org is king. It rules over all. Assist has been there when counselors fall short.

Obviously always get answers through multiple channels but assist is great and straight forward. Assist tells you whether certain classes are required or recommended even.

Not all majors have major prerequisites, some UCs also don’t require major prerequisites for non-competitive majors. This may be why you are not seeing the major prerequisites on Assist.org.

You can find good examples of what the major prerequisites will look like on Assist.org if you look up engineering majors or business administration major for Berkeley.

In general, use [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) .

However, it is also best to check the web site of the department at the school you wish to transfer to.

For example, [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) lists a year of calculus to prepare to transfer to Berkeley Economics:

[ASSIST Report](<a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST)

However, the Berkeley Economics department recommends that if you want to go to graduate school in Economics, you should take additional math (Berkeley Math 53 and 54, or equivalent articulated courses which are readily available at community colleges; these are multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations) so that you can take the more math-intensive Economics courses after transferring.

There is also additional information for transfer students:
