Thank you Juggling Mom, I play the piano. They contacted me through email. I live in California and I think the regional ones are out earlier.

I got this from NEC today (was responding to a q's on financial aid):

"Prescreening audition results will be mailed later this week or early next week we hope. "

S2 accepted today for audition at Oberlin (jazz) in February. Yea!

Congrats SJTH! What a fun trip for you and your son.

For those that choose to make use of the "regionals", do you have to submit a CD for pre-screening?

Mezzo'sMama, the policies would be school specific and and no blanket answer applies. From recollection if a school required a prescreen for an on-site audition, I'd imagine it would apply to the school's offsite regional audition as well.

With this type of school specific parameter, it's always best to check the particular website, or call the music admissions contact for clarification if info is unclear or lacking.

Thanks, Jazzzmom, it looks to be a whirlwind couple of weeks, but fun!

Depends on the school. For instance, I think Oberlin doesn't require pre-screening for regionals.

However, you will have a better chance for scholarships if you can audition on campus. More professors will see you live. At regionals, one or two profs attend, and they video the audition for the other profs to see back on campus.

Hello!

Daughter heard from NEC via email this afternoon that she was chosen for a live audition in a little over 3 weeks. Still waiting on Juilliard and BoCo. Good luck and best wishes to everyone.

EW'smom, what is your daughter's major?

Vocal performance.

Son heard from NEC today via e-mail and has an audition on Feb 1 for Vocal Performance.

Still waiting to hear from Eastman for Jan 30, and we can finalize our travel plans.

hmm, I still haven't received anything from NEC yet...although I am piano

I have an incredibly dumb question to ask if I may. All of DD's auditions are scheduled except for those she is waiting to hear from (BoCo and Juillard) for prescreening. We had no clue when the audition would be for NEC until we heard from them yesterday by email. Luckily, there were no conflicts with those schools already scheduled.

I have absolutely no clue when BoCo's auditions are and am worried there will be a conflict. Here comes the dumb question....has anyone seen this date range anywhere? I know that Juilliard's vocal audition is the week of March 1st as it is on their web site. But see nothing on BoCo's site.

Just thought I would tap into the collective knowledge here before asking there.
Thanks!

EW, I'm wondering the same thing about The New School/jazz--they mention "March city-wide audition week"--does anyone know when this is?

EW - I thought BoCo's website directed applicants to an audition schedule once the electronic application was completed. An acquaintance of mine mentioned dates to me at some point for her D so I assumed dates were chosen at the time of application and then confirmed. Are these the dates you need?

Cartera - My daughter said she did not see undergraduate vocal performance on the app submission page back in November. But that would make sense since it is a prescreened audition, right? Why would they let applicants schedule auditions and then not be selected as prescreening candidates? I am thinking too much! Just a worried mom!

Thank you for the link. This is a new addition to the web site.....

SJTH - Juilliard, New University (Mannes and Jazz) and Mahattan School all coordinate their auditions for the same auditions. Auditions for the same instrument will be held during the same week at all 3 schools.

EW - that makes sense. I would just call them.

I requested an audition at NEC on Feb 6 or 8. I'm so anxious to hear...
