Right now I am taking precalculus honors but it feels kind of hard… Our tests and quizzes make over 80% of our grade and I’m kind of bad at test taking. I’m pretty sure I can pull off a low A this semester but should I keep going next semester or should I switch to regular? I also have to study for 3-4 AP exams in the 2nd semester and I heard that regular pre-calc is way easier than honors at our school. How much of an impact for bad would it have if I switched 2nd semester?
If you decide to attend university, most undergraduate courses weigh exams/final heavily (70-80% is typical). Might be good to get used to test taking while you can.
Well I’m only a sophomore so I think I probably still have time for that considering I’m taking way more APs the next couple of years (and also another one of my classes this year (AP Chemistry) is 70% quizzes and tests).
If you intend on taking calculus, stick to precalculus honors.
It’s better to have an honors class with a B than a regular class with an A.
If you were getting C’s I’d advise you switch but you seem to be doing fine - you’re just encountering difficulty, which is normal. Train yourself to overcome difficulty and to avoid the temptation of giving up when things seem hard and uncertain. It’s a skill that’ll be very useful jr-sr year then in college.
