I heard there was one at the end of January and one at beginning of March last year. Thoughts on what it may be this time around?

I ran into the HS college counselor at the grocery store today (small town lol) and we were discussing this.(I have in the past helped her gather info regarding admissions since her office has limited resources.)

She said that in prior years Michigan warned her office that there would be deferrals because of the large number of applicants, They simply did not have time to do a proper review by the EA decision deadline. Many students would then get in late January/Early February without doing anything else. No calls, no new expression of interest after the deferral, no sending grades (they couldn’t our transcripts from first semester aren’t’ ready at that time).

However, this year they warned that there would be deferrals because they were significantly cutting EA acceptances (as articles posted in other thread indicated) .

She believes that students who don’t express interest (or reconfirm interest) who were deferred will not be admitted, given the new goal combined with the usual effort of yield protection). She is also wondering if the admittance will come as soon.
