Premarital Sex

Truelove stop ■■■■■■■■, nobody cares what you have to say

@tcbh: Yes, absolutely understood. I couldn’t agree more. I’m just saying that if one has sex…their soul is not automatically sentenced to death.

collegestress: No, I care. I like attempting to view * issues * from different prospectives.

Jeopardy answer? What?

Please explain the concept of a soul. I honestly don’t understand. MosbyMarion’s technical definition had too many large words.

I don’t. But I don’t know electrons exist either, and that doesn’t stop me from drawing useful conclusions from them.

I’ve got very strong evidence for the existence of a soul, but that’s a long subject and I have a cold so I’ll get back with you on that in the morning.

I don’t think Jesus is the best reason for you to refuse premarital sex. I mean mother Mary wasn’t exactly married in case you forgot. But I definitely agree that it should be left to the discretion of the individuals in the relationship. If you feel comfortable then there is no reason not too. Just remember that most things dont last forever so if your expecting it to last for ever or using that as your justification then goodluck! Personally I am sexually active but I dont just go around sleeping with different girls. And be aware that it may affect your future relationships. Alot of the girls felt as if they were just a number but thats life.

Dont tell your parents by the way unless they are comfortable with knowing

East, “Jesus is not God” you say? Oh, now you tell me! Sheesh. I think I’ll stick with what Jesus says about himself: “If you have seen me, you have seen my father in heaven . . . I and my father are one and the same”.

I was Christian for a good part of my life. I’ve gone through every typical Catholic sacrament. I’ve even been through anointing of the sick! I had the “Holy Spirit” if that’s what you want to call it (whatever). I have NO issue with Jesus. I think he was a great guy and people misconstrue his message. I just personally don’t belong to any religion anymore. I also REALLY have an issue when people try to use religion as a way to justify their intolerances against another person. Jesus and God are not meant to be used as an attack against another person.

PS: Even if you want to use the Bible as a way to prove some one right or wrong, then you need to go find the “original” words supposedly inspired by God. The Bible that we use today is a watered down version that has been edited and translated by the fallible man.

/rant

Oh and let’s not have east and True turn this into a Christianity vs Islam thread. That’ll get explosive really fast.

I believe the soul exists, but your comparison to electrons is a false analogy. There is proof of electrons. We DO know they exist. An analogy to dark matter would be apt (excuse me if it isn’t, my knowledge of physics is limited for now).

Romani: I applaud your rant!

Roma, dump the religious junk. Just read about Jesus and try to live the best you can for Him. I am not against church per se, I am against playing church stuff.

Premarital sex is not a sin but a matter of choice. I think we all have a choice to have sex before or after marriage.

and TrueLove, your being very close minded I’m Roman Catholic and I do belove we all have to respect other peoples choices. You should know to love the person not the action. So calling someone gross or a slut is a sin of your part on being judgemental. Everyone has different point of views of what is right and wrong. This is what seperates us as a people. If you truly are a Christian then you’ll know to respect others view and not be close-mined.

And the Jesus I know and love doesn’t punish us left and right for everything. He has compassion for us, and is willing to forgive us for our sins.

^^ Whatever True. You know no more about what Jesus wants than I do. I live my life by what I feel is right. If God is in me, then he will guide me to what is right, not a book.

Then what was that thing in Millikan’s Oil drop experiment? I don’t get it. It has empirical evidence going for it, no?

Please do explain your reasons for a soul existing. After your cold stops inhibiting your typing ability.

brndname, don’t tell your parents? You sneaky little thing. Why don’t you want someone who cares deeply about you to know about your selfish act? You are hiding from doing what is right. Good luck with that. You gotta feel pretty awful toward your parents and anyone who has morals. Yuck!

Let’s not got carried away here, JJ.

You honestly can follow the Bible word for word. The Bible has been tampered with and changed so many times. Its just a book that contradicts its self. Following the Bible word by word just makes you an intolerant person.

Here’s my perspective: I am against premarital sex and I would do my best to make sure those in my family didn’t have it either. However, even if someone does have premarital sex, no one can judge then. Only God can. I may be against the act, but I can not judge the person. I will not promote it, but I can not stop anyone from doing it, and if they have, I will be tolerant of their choice.

To all Christians: We cannot judge other people, only their acts. It says so in the bible.

Romani, you are literally playing with fire. What is so wrong about living precisely by what Jesus tells you to live by? Why not allow him to control your life. He is the perfect embodiment of love. Don’t you want The Love" Hmmm??? All you need is love, love. All you need is love. See, even the Beatles got it right, Babes.

I should have known the name for that lol. Haha I tried to remember it but I couldn’t. Thanks meadow for naming it. That’ll help me come the AP Chem exam.
