Premed at Reed College or University of Washington?

I understand that the cultures are vastly different, but the problem is, I don’t know which environment I would be willing to pay around 45k for. (Btw, it is crazy how Reed’s original cost of attendance is 65k.) Or do you think I should just save money and go to my in-state college University of Nevada Reno? UNR would cost around 16k a year. I plan to go to medical school and major in Neuroscience or Psychology.

Which one do you think I would be more successful at? Would I have a chance to do research/clinical experience/internships at Reed? and is the debt worth it? I have no idea how hard/easy paying off 400k will be… (cost of undergrad+med school). I would appreciate any bit of advice. Thanks!

400k worth of debt? What. How.

(45,000 x 4)+(60,000 x 4)= 420,000… So um actually more than 400k :’(

UNR. Do they have an Honors program?

Yes, they do, but the people in the honors program that I know have all said that it is their only regret and that it is a waste of time so I don’t plan to join.

Oh.
Okay, spend the extra time working over your courses exceptionally well so as to make the GPA as high as possible.

UW (Honors) would be a close second, particularly considering the plethora of undergraduate research opportunities there, but the cost is probably quite a bit more. What’s the cost of UW for you?

Just go to your state school tbh.
