Ok. So I'm thinking about premed (like everyone and their mom's), and I have orientation coming up next month. I know orientation counselors will tell us what to do and all, but I want a student's help, too.

I'm thinking of a social science major... maybe econ or I don't know.. something in that field... What classes do I have to take to fill both PREMED and my major? I'm really confused... I know there's different series for math, chem, physics... :-\ :[

you don't need 31 series if you're only premed. if you're econ major, you need to take a few 31 math classes. also, you do need life science 1 if you're premed.

Basically, any bio major requires LS1 as a prereq. However, there's a complication: medical schools require a full year of bio classes with lab components, and some schools may not consider LS4 to have a lab component.

you need to decide quickly whether you want to do econ/bizecon or some other major. For any econ major you MUST take the math 31 series. This series is harder, and thus it would be in your best interest to take the 3 series as a premed. however, if you don't have a solid idea of what you want to major in, then take the 31 series because it will work for any major (3 series only fulfills the math requirement for LS majors)
