Prep Schools in 1 word

Thacher = California
Westover = What (In other words, a true hidden gem)

Choate=Innovative

@panpacific, were you referring to the student population when you suggested NYC for Choate?

From what I’ve seen, there are no more families from “NYC” than any other NE prep school I’ve visited, and I’ve now been to seven campuses.

Episcopal High School = Home

If anything, Masters=NYC

Not just in the composition of its student body, but also the proximity to NYC, and the CITYterm program that is based on their campus.

I left a question mark at the end. When I visited Choate a few years ago, i had that impression. Or, maybe it’s just the location being closer to NYC, students from NYC and their families tend to drop in and out more often?

To me, the fun part of this thread is to not provide a one word insider compliment to their schools (what one word can be called real insider info anyway) but a catch word to the general consumers of BS. Have fun!

Portsmouth Abbey = Respect

Berkshire = Picturesque, Shining-like
It also felt NYC/NJ more than Choate did.

Choate = Toast (On Choate Day today)

Deerfield = Dream on (^^^) :wink:

NMH=View (from the church on the hill)

Lawrenceville = Dynamic

@Optimyst: Hmmm. I saw the results of the games. I can see why you picked your moniker!

Mercersburg = community

Exeter: life-changing

@mexusa I think the person meant that a lot of NYC kids go to Choate… not that Choate is equivalent to NYC itself/

Hotchkiss = noservice

@whatever4ever How about Verizon? These days I find Verizon pretty much monopolizes the remote BS areas but it does work. Schools do have good WiFi so I communicate by VoIP, googlevoice text with my kid who has a verizon-network-MVNO phone when I’m on campus with my NOSERVICE non-verizon phone.

Groton = circles

^Circles? @stargirl3

Putney= Independence
