Pres-screen results, anyone?

Michigan needs to hurry!!

you heard from syracuse @Lawfang?

Didn’t pass Syracuse pre-screen.

Applied to 14 schools, and only three of them require prescreening. Michigan, Pace, and Wright State. Found out I got a Pace callback within less than a day, just randomly applied to wright state so still waiting on that, and waiting on Michigan. A few of my friends got callbacks from Michigan within the last week, I keep checking my email and nothing is there.

Congrats to all of you!! Sounds like a lot of tough pre-screens were passed!! Good luck going forward!!

Anyone heard from Otterbein? I doubt they’ll get back quickly what with the holidays coming up but I thought I’d ask anyways!!

I submitted on Nov. 29 and got a yes on Dec 11. I think if you don’t hear something within two weeks you’re supposed to email them!

I am also waiting for Otterbein. I submitted mine kind of late. I am sure hoping for a yes, it seems like a perfect school. Of course, I say that about each school on my list. Does anyone know how many prescreens they receive and how many they pass? I know they are very small amount of actual admissions.

Still waiting on Michigan, which we submitted on 11/22. I called them last week and they said she will hear this week. I’m a little concerned since several people here received an invitation to audition in less than 2 weeks, and I don’t remember hearing of any rejections in the past few weeks. Getting paranoid that perhaps they are saving up their rejections… :frowning:

@IJKmom~ It depends on which screener’s pile you fall into as to when you hear. Some teachers are grading finals etc. I wouldn’t read anything more into it.

That makes sense. Thank you @lojosmo. Letting it go and what will be will be.

Does anyone know how long it takes for Western Michigan to get back to applicants with an audition confirmation. I know they don’t prescreen but I turned in my app on Acceptd. I’m trying to confirm my travel plans and they are one of the last pieces to my unified puzzle. These dang holidays are slowing things down.

I submitted my Acceptd profile for WMU on December 8th and heard back on December 17th. They might be shut down now for the holidays. You could call them if it’s that urgent!

Just heard back from Otterbein. They get back fairly quickly even when school is probably off. Unfortunately, it was a no. Pretty bummed but I’m trying not to let it get to me.

Don’t let it get to you more than a moment. You’ll find your spot! Also, keep in mind that there are many reasons for not passing prescreens that are not related to talent.

Thank you, I’m trying to tell myself that and prevent myself from re watching my prescreens and over analyzing everything, like I think I might have been a little under tempo and flat at the end and maybe that’s what my problem was. Oh well. Gotta decide if I need to add more to my list of schools now to replace the hole. Right now I have, UW-Stevens Point, Roosevelt, CCM, Montclair, Western Michigan, Columbia College, UofMinnesota, Viterbo, and in state school that’s a general theatre major and MT minor. I am constantly going back and forth between wanting to be in school in NYC and wanting a super cheap close to home option.

It looks like you have a good variety. Since we were chasing financial aid in addition to artistic acceptances, D had more on her list. I know a few people who auditioned to around 8 programs and only had one or no artistic choices at the end. But, you do have Columbia, so, if that were to work out financially and you happened to have no other artistic acceptances that would work, that’s good! (I’m not trying to scare you or anything–honest–I just am sharing what I saw last year and what I’d advise my own D, which would be to add a couple. People vary in their opinions on this, btw.).

Thank you, I’m wanting to add more but nervous to because more fees and the only audition opportunity I have is at Chicago unifieds unless it’s a few hours from my home which is really only UofMinn and Viterbo. My gpa is a bit low too so I do have some thins going against me. Some schools like Wright State and Kent I can’t audition for since they aren’t going to unifieds. It’s definitely a tough process even without the whole musical theatre aspect of applying to colleges. I’m hoping to have enough in state safeties that I won’t screw myself out of college altogether but I can only really see myself attending a BFA program.

There are a couple really good programs out there that offer a video submission option if travel is a big barrier for you! I am sending a video audition in to Oklahoma City University as well as University of Hartford. Hartford only accepts video submissions if you live more than 300 miles away though. I’m sure if you do some research you could find some really good options!

Thanks Katie, I really like the program at OCU, what did you have to do for auditionn purely via video and are they touh academically
