Sounds like you have a lot of opportunities with 6 auditions, Sopranorose. That’s a good selection. Wish you luck with your surgery and your college shopping!

Congrats, POTO mom!

I still haven’t heard from Eastman (asked for the February 20th weekend). Anyone else? Just wish they would tell me already!!!

Eastman – I think they’re still organizing that weekend. My D’s first choice date is Feb 19th. She got the invitation to audition weeks ago, but has not yet received the second email with the details. I’ve called, they assured me she was on the list for the 19th, and said they’re still working on that weekend. Everything will be out in “the next few days…” This was Wednesday. So, you’ll hear…soon? Good luck!

I understand that SUNY Purchase sent out email acceptances on the 15th and was sending out rejections via regular mail. . . We have gotten nothing either way (and yes, he checked his spam folder!) We assume it’s a rejection but it would be nice to actually know.

My D finally heard via email from Indiana that she’s invited to audition for voice on March 5th.

I never ever got an sort of email from Eastman. I had to call them and have them check my file. They couldn’t find it… then they later called me back and told me i was not invited to an audition. Sheesh! Why couldn’t they just have told me normally about 4 weeks previously?

I had cancelled my Westminster audition because of medical problems… but get this! My ex-voice teacher, who i am still in touch with, called them and explained my situation, and they offered me another audition date for Feb. 26th! Now, I have mine for Potsdam on the 27th, but I think I can make it. My dad might have to drive for 12 hours straight, but if I can get him to agree, then I have my Westminster audition back.

Does anyone know when colleges start notifying you after your audition of admission? I know Purchase is around March 15th… How about BoCo, NEC, Potsdam (Crane) or Westminster?

Crane is rolling admissions, you should hear in 7 - 10 days from your audition.

Westminster is rolling admission too. Great thing when DD auditioned was that they told you any merit awards at that time and did not wait until all had been heard.

Well, after getting negative responses from Manhattan and Mannes I was pretty bummed, and was getting pretty anxious about not getting any word from SUNY Purchase (especially after I read on this thread that confirmation emails/rejection mail was sent out on the 15th. However, I am thrilled to say I was invited back for an audition at SUNY Purchase for flute, hooray!

Congrats fluting206! I also didn’t get an audition at mannes, but I’ll be at Purchase on 2/20 for violin :)

Congrats, Fluting206! Break a leg!

Here’s all of my final audition dates… Will I be seeing anybody there?

February 12: University of New Hampshire

February 14: New England Conservatory’

Febraury 15: SUNY Purchase

February 20: Boston Conservatory

February 26: Westminster Choir College

Febraury 27: SUNY Potsdam (Crane)

I have an audition at Purchase on 2/18 (VP). It’s the only conservatory program I’m applying to (because it’s the only one I can afford!).

I sang a song that’s technically MT as my English song (Jeff Blumenkrantz’s ‘I Won’t Mind’) and was surprised they didn’t object. I have another English song that I can sing, but it wasn’t sounding great in my recording session. Would it be better to sing the other in the live audition?

I know that Purchase allows repertoire changes between pre-screen and live auditions…

Sopranorose,

We just got back from an audition at NEC. Here is a link to a post about that if you are interested.

Does anyone know when we’ll hear from Colburn?

HEY Tenormama. Good luck at WCC this weekend. We will be at Eastman. Don9992 - my D is meeting your D.

Thanks POTO Mom, good luck to your D. See you on the 20th at CCM!

Finally heard back from Colburn. Audition is March 26th and they ask her to be available from 8 AM until 9 PM… long day.

DS got the Colburn email today too and may see you at auditions: Friday, March 26 also–means the concerto has to stay in shape for another month.
