Prescreening Results

Interview at UMich today…hoping it goes better than my first one. :D

Best of luck, RoKr, and have fun with it! My S and I just arrived in Boulder and get to poke around a bit today before audition tomorrow. What a gorgeous town!!!

Got denied to SFCM, waiting on NEC and Oberlin for classical piano. The wait is freaking killing me!

My teacher said that I won’t get into NEC, so now. HAVE to get into Onerlin! Do or die here!

Atredis - It sounds like you may not have applied to enough schools. There are still some fine conservatories where the deadline has not passed such as Lawrence Univ. Conservatory - I just checked and Jan. 15th is the deadline. Also, if you’re willing to get a BA in music instead of a BM, and attend a college rather than a conservatory, there are many many schools with great piano faculty where the deadline has not passed - and most of them are not audition based - such as Bard, Vassar, Yale, Wesleyan, and so on… Dozens and dozens more.

SpiritManager,

I applied to four in state schools where you don’t need to submit any prescreening materials. I wanted to do more conservatories, but my parents didn’t want to pay for any music school applications, so I had to muster up the money myself.

Daughter passed prescreen at NEC for the MM program in Contemporary Improvisation. Live audition to follow in February.

Passed prescreening rounds at USC, Manhattan, and Rice for MM in Performance (Violin). I got my prescreening requirement waived for Northwestern. Waiting on DePaul, UT Austin, and CU Boulder

This is an old thread. Others are posting their prescreen results for THIS year in the “audition emails” thread.
