Does anyone know when we find out if we made it to the interview cut of the presidential scholarship? I know the interviews take place at the end of Feb. and we find out about everything in March, but does anyone know when we find out if we get an interview?

The HOSA website says invitations will be extended to the finalists in mid-February.

This email came today with details about the scholarships:

Greetings from the University Honors & Scholars Center at The Ohio State University! Thank you for submitting your Honors Online Scholarship Application (HOSA). We are confirming again that you successfully submitted your HOSA. Since our HOSA review process is underway, we wanted to share the following information with you about our applicant pool and review process:

· Approximately 2,080 students submitted a HOSA. These students meet the eligibility to be considered for the Presidential and Medalist Scholarships.

· Of these 2,080 students, 396 are also eligible to be considered for the Battelle and Glenna R. Joyce Scholarships due to their residence in one of the following Ohio counties: Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Licking, Madison, Pickaway, or Union.

· Our HOSA review process will conclude in mid-February. We will be calling 60 students who have been selected as finalists for the Presidential Scholarship on February 1516 to invite them to attend Scholarship Interview Weekend (February 27-28, 2011). If students do not receive a call on these two days, they are no longer being considered for the Presidential Scholarship.

· After Scholarship Interview Weekend concludes, we will select the students who will be awarded the Presidential and Medalist Scholarships. We anticipate awarding 15 Presidential and 45 Medalist Scholarships.

· Students awarded the Presidential and Medalist Scholarships will be notified during the week of March 7, 2011.

· We will be calling 15 students who have been selected as finalists for the Battelle and Joyce Scholarships on February 21, 2011 to invite them to an interview on March 4, 2011. We anticipate awarding 3 Joyce and 4 Battelle Scholarships. If students do not receive a call on February 21st, they are no longer being considered for the Battelle and Joyce Scholarships.

· Students awarded the Battelle and Joyce Scholarships will be notified during the week of March 7, 2011.

· All students who submitted a HOSA will be notified of their final status by March 18, 2011.

Please save this message to use as a reference in the coming weeks. We wish you all the best in the HOSA review process!

I got that email. 2080 applicants for 60 scholarships…well, I won’t be getting one of those! :p

is it just me or does this seem like a ridiculously small number of scholarships relative to the incoming class size?

well some of us didnt get into honors/scholars before the hosa deadline…grumbe…

Less than a three percent chance lol. Fantastic odds
