presidential service award

I got a gold medal for the presidential service award. does that look good for colleges?

Yes...that means you have done 250+ hours, correct?

i want to get one. i've done a lot of hours too

how do i get one?

yes. I did 250+ hours. What i did is this. I applied for the prudential spirit of community awards and was selected as a representitive. On the application i wrote that i did 250+ hours. Luckily, prudential and the program that distributes the presidential awards are now partners. It took me 6 months just for the package to arrive. it includes an official letter from the white house. Is this significant on college applications in your opinion?

To get the award you log your volunteer hours on presidentialserviceawards.gov. If you have more than 100 between september and august of a year you get bronze, 175+ you get silver, and 250+ you get gold. I think it looks great on college apps because then it proves that you have done a lot of volunteering and that you didn’t make it up. Also, colleges like to see consistency with volunteering (instead of like a mission trip they like to see weekly tutoring or sunday school or something) and you need that to get the award.
