President's scholarship

Befuddled, Congrats, and what are her stats?

We’re in NJ, so a little closer. She has 4.02 WGPA, 34 ACT, 1330/2090 SAT.

i got 5k / year out of state, 32 ACT, decent grades…would like more but still happy! :)

8k President’s Scholarship OOS.

3.81 W GPA, 1340/1600 and 1980/2400 SATs.

Is it 8k per year or 8k throughout all 4 years?

8k a year OOS here.

Don’t know if that’ll make UMCP viable for me or not but it’s certainly nice to have. Especially after a string of scholarship rejections -_-

Sockcreature, did it specifically say 8k per year for all 4 years?

My letter said: “…in the amount of $8,000 to be equally distributed over four years.”

I am wondering if this means 8k for all 4 years (so 32k for all 4 years) or it means 8k as in 2k for every year. I called a spoke to someone who told me to look at it how the letter says it, but I’m confused about what the letter says.

Also, I looked on their website and it says: “Awards of up to $12,000 per year are available for four years.”

The info. on their website is leading me to believe my letter means 8k per year for 4 years, while the guy is telling me it’s really 2k per year for 4 years.

Yuppitt- Sorry to say this, but think it means 2k per year for 4 years. My daughter’s says “President’s Scholarship in the amount of $20,000 to be equally distributed over 4 years.” I’m sure her is $5k a year, not $20k. (Sure would be great if it was $20k!)

I got 12K/yr out of state (NJ) with a 4.6/4.7 GPA and a 1530/2330 SATs. Still slightly disappointed to not receive a B/K invite but thrilled about getting so much for a Presidential!

My sister got 5K/yr with a 4.2 / 4.7 and a 21something SATs as well, if anyone just wanted to know.

Just asking for advice, because I know there’s some overlap between the two schools–I was accepted into Rutgers New Brunswick Honors with a complete full ride, and UMD-College Park Honors with the 12K Presidential. I like the University of Maryland a lot, and their honors program is far more structured and generally better than Rutgers. Is it worth it to go to Maryland instead?

yeah i just checked my mail and i got a president’s scholarship oos.
check your mail!! (snail mail not email)

Anyone on the west Coast get letter today? Hate snail mail

2k/year out of state, 4.27 W GPA, 1360 and 2070 SAT, 32 ACT. Kinda bummed I didn’t get more…

Just got 5k/year with 1530/2190 SAT and 4.0/4.7 GPA instate. Does anyone know when departmental scholarships for engineering are awarded and if I have any chance at them?

Surprised OOS scholarship amounts are so low with those good stats…I am starting to worry

If I haven’t gotten a scholarship yet, am probably not going to get one? I’m in-state and I thought i would get one.

Not sure how it all works. I am out of state with GPA 4.25, SAT 2200 ACT 34 so I am hoping for something…Hopefully the letter will come soon. Can’t afford U of Maryland without substantial scholarship

12k/year OOS 1550/2280 SAT 33 ACT 4.0 UW 5.something W
Congratulations to the other recipients and good luck to those still waiting for a letter!

I got 8k/yr in state. 1560/2240 SAT’s, 3.7/4.1 GPA, good EC’s. Comp Engineering major.
=]

Congrats to all! Mr. Spock, it seemed like last year the engineering scholarships came out a couple of weeks after the presidents…you could check last year’s threads from March.

Congrats to all!

Can those from NJ tell me where in NJ they are from? We are in Bergen County and didn’t get anything in today’s mail. Just wondering if they are all across the state or in one area.

Still holding out Hope to get something.

Bummed 5K OOS 4.2 GPA 5.0 WGPA 1440 SAT. 5k is not really going to help get to CP
