Pretty please take the time to chance me...I think I'm about to cry :(

Hey guys, I'm so nervous about the college application process I'm gonna be entering soon as a rising senior, right now I'm spazzing and I think I'm gonna burst into tears soon. I'm facing a decision whether to ED Wharton at UPenn or Stern at NYU, cuz I don't think I have a snowball's chance in hell at Wharton! Please give me your thoughts, Wharton's my dream school and I want to go there so badly, but sometimes people have to be realistic right?

I don't know if this counts as a hook, I'm an American citizen, grew up in Canada, and came to China to study for high school cuz of family problems. The Chinese high school didn't have grade 9, so I had to skip directly to 10...so my math chem and physics grades in the first semester were 5s (IB full score is 7) and second semester were 6s. But now they're all 7s and my predicted IB scores should be all 7s.

The only two that you might not get into are Wharton and Columbia. You have a good shot though.

Thank you so much! I feel better now after taking it out on the piano for awhile…

I wouldn’t even bother applying to wharton or columbia. wharton is just too hard to get into and columbia isn’t even that good at business (which im assuming you want to pursue). You have a good shot at all the others, I would say stern is the only one up in the air. Apply ED there and ur in!

I disagree with soccersamdude. You do have a chance at top schools if your scores come out the way you say they will and your grades continue to be nearly perfect.

it has to be perfect for wharton, not nearly. Columbia maybe…

I think your chances are pretty good at UPenn. I would encourage you to apply (GO FOR IT!) early decision. Best of luck I think you may surprise yourself!

you have a slim chance but apply anyawys

“columbia isn’t even that good at business”

Perhaps this is because Columbia has no undergraduate business curriculum…

exactly 10 char

I think your idea of applying ED to Stern is a good one. Wharton and Columbia would be enormous reaches with the 5’s and 6’s during early high school. The only issue with Stern would be if you need aid.

Thanks guys…I know the sensible choice would be to ED Stern…I know it sounds silly, but my heart just won’t let go of UPenn…:frowning:

And about aid, I will need some, but not that much…I will be submitting the FAFSA etc…

If you need aid, don’t ED Stern. NYU does not promise to meet need and they rarely do.

Sorry I can’t seem to edit the original post anymore.

Can someone tell me if my chances would be raised considerably if I got the SAT Reasoning Scores up to 2300+? And I think I can get Chem up to around 790-800, with USH to around 770.
Also, my GPA is 6.5/7, which is like 3.7/4.0 (unweighted).
What if I applied to the college instead of Wharton?

Someone please help!!! :(
