pretty pls with a cherry on top :~)

I’m really new to posting on CC, but I’ve basically stalked the hell out of the forums.

Heads up, I’m more concerned with NYU than the other schools I’m applying to transfer to for fall 2015

I’m currently a freshman at CUNY City College as an undeclared science major on a premed track. I applied to NYU CAS and was rejected for biology, but I’m applying again as an english major + premed. I also indicated alternate schools such as Steinhardt for media/communications, Gallatin, and Global Liberal Studies. My high school GPA was a 90 unweighted/94.3 weighted with IB courses (2 HL and 3 SL) and one AP (Calculus AB). My college GPA is currently a 3.93. Standardized exam scores:
30 ACT
750 SAT Biology M
I don’t plan on submitting my 1930 SAT (sitting in for a retake in March just bc ya know?)
I’m a part of one of the chemistry labs at NYU currently, attend lectures/presentations, volunteering at a bone marrow drive, volunteer at my local library, joined the premed honor society, in the educational rights club, secretary of my church’s youth group, member of their choir, and I tutor regents chemistry to one high school student. Just tons of EC’s since I thought that was one of my weak points in my first application (there’s not enough time in the day, man). My supplement is pretty freakin’ great if I say so myself.
Anyway, I’m super afraid of getting rejected again. I know there are loads of other competitive applications and all that jazz. I guess I just want some kind of reassurance.

PS feel free to post your chances too! We can all worry together.

Are you applying for FA? NYU is need-aware so that may be a factor.
Otherwise, I think you have great chances. Where else have you applied?

Are they really? I applied FAFSA, TAPS, and did the CSS Profile. I’m also applying to Fordham, some SUNY schools, Barnard, and Cornell (a huge stretch but why not)

Yes, NYU is well known for its lousy financial aid for freshmen, and transfers get nothing (and not even housing, so you have to add housing costs at NYC prices - expect $1,000 a month with utilities, then add food and transportation costs)
