So I received a D in a class during Winter 2019 which ended in February. I notified every school except for UC Merced. I have been accepted in UC Merced and have now realized I failed to notify them. The class isn’t for my major nor is it required for my GE classes. I was taken it to fulfill a pre-req for pre-med. Are they for sure gonna revoke me or is there a chance im still in? I realize a definite answer will come from them but I would like to hear other’s opinion.
@gumbymom may be able to help you. The UCs are a different kind of beast. They have their own rules and some are quite explicit and unique.
Have you talked about this with your guidance counselor? I’d tell you to get in touch with the college ASAP, explain the situation, and ask if you can retake the class in the summer.
I tried calling them all of Thursday and Friday during their hours, but no one answered. I ended up sending them an email.
If you did not notify UCM as of yet, you need to do it as soon as possible. This is in your provisional admission contract for UC Merced:
**Maintain eligibility and notify us of any changes to your academic history. Complete all courses you indicated as “in progress” or “planned” with grades of C or better, unless the selection criteria for your major indicates otherwise. If you receive a C-, D, F, W, NP or NC grade, add or withdraw from any courses or enroll in a college other than previously indicated you must notify the Office of Admissions immediately by submitting a Transfer Academic Update (TAU) if it is by March 31, or by posting the changes to “myCourseUpdates” in the my.ucmerced.edu portal April 1 and thereafter. Please note: We strongly discourage you from changing your schedule. **
Call admissions Monday and offer to retake the class during the summer as stated by @Groundwork2022 which may help your situation. You will need to retake for Medical school applications.
They don’t like Ds. Contact them and try and negotiate. Not telling them will get them annoyed.
