Preview prep.

For those that already went through this seemingly arduous process, how was the chem. and math placement exams? Were they facile enough to pass without much study?

Also, has anyone got any confirmation emails in respect to the health immunization forms. I turned mine in awhile ago.

Yeah, today many UF online services were activated for those who were admitted and that accepted the admission. Like the WebMail, the Personal Record at ISIS, GATOR Ticket tab, and much more. I already sent the immunization forms but maybe I will send it again this week to make sure they have it. i am not going to do placement exams for now, maybe in the 2 weeks of vacations i have after i graduate so i have the new content of calculus/chemistry fresh. for now let’s wait for the preview… :)

They’re really easy, you shouldn’t have to prep for them in my opinion, if you can’t pass them then it’s not a good idea for you to place out of the classes. Obviously if you want you can just cheat on them (There’s no time limit or google limit) but they’re designed to see if you need to take the class or not, if you need to take it then it’s a bad idea to skip it.

The calculus placement exam didn’t test anything about calculus, if I recall correctly. It was all trig and algebra, designed to see if you’re ready for calculus 1 for the first time.

If we have AP credit does our performance on the exams even matter?

lr2010, where id you find the Gator ticket tab? Or the personal record tab at ISIS?

Good query, Ryan. I also have the same concern.

Taking the placement exam is required in order to register for classes. If you have AP Calc credit and you don’t pass the placement exam, then there’s a problem. It’s all basic algebra and trig.

I didn’t have to take the Calc one because I already had calc 1 credit from AP Calc. I don’t know if things have changed in the last 2 years. I doubt they have.

^^
May depend on when you do your preview. D had AP calc b/c credit, but she took the online placement exam anyway. Took all of 10 minutes or so to do so, and then she had the results so she didn’t have to worry that she didn’t have her AP calc results yet. She got all the questions right on the assessment test (plus, she nailed ACT math and SATII math) so that when she said she knew she’d score well on the AP exam, they didn’t question her. So, she set herself up with calc3 at preview.

zebes

The email was turned on for those that are going for summer b. For those in the fall, everything should fall into place by March 29.
