Daughter who is a freshman at UMD got a letter in the mail from the Primannum Honor Society which says it represents Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigman (honor societies)

Anyway they invited her to join and she would have to pay one time dues of $65.

It offers some small scholarship opportunites, a cord at graduation and the resources of the chapter..

Anyway I just wondered if anyone knew anything about this and if it was worth joining.

Thanks

Since this is a UMD thing (google it and see), it seems legitimate. Not at all like the "pay-us-and-we'll-put-your-name-in-a-book" scams. Looks like the activities are fundraisers and the money goes for scholarships. On first blush, it looks like a way to get to know people right away.

Yes it does look legit and like a good thing. She has luckily made some good friends but I think it looks like a good opportunity to make more! Just wanted to make sure it wasnt a take your money type thing.
