When I called the office this morning, the admission officer confirmed that they accepted people off the waitlist. I think the article published by the Daily Princetonian contains info that may have been outdated (collected by the student writer few days ago). Like I said, when I called them a few days ago, they aren’t sure if they’ll be using the waitlist.
Also, the article doesn’t mention anything about the bridge program students who will be deferring this year.
assuming that around 30 more defer a year bc of the bridge year program, we’re looking at maybe 10 waitlist offers? something in that vicinity
So they made two offers yesterday but now we do not know when they will call others again. Maybe they are still deciding on the other offers?
Also I think it goes by region in terms of when they take off the waitlist
@greysanatomy3113 well they made two offers yesterday that we know of…if both of them happen to be from the same region there’s a bit more reason to remain hopeful @anotherdude makes a good point - if they haven’t taken into consideration people doing bridge year yet then more spots could potentially open up.
Yeah it’s just the waiting that is agonizing @jpa0115
My friend (who got the offer) and I go to school in New Mexico
I looked at the other person’s profile (who posted that they got in yesterday on this thread). He’s from the Hawaii region.
I don’t think accepting off the waitlist goes by region if previous year Princeton waitlist threads to something to go by. Also, somehow I have the feeling that when they say very limited, they mean even more limited than usual…so not 40-50 but like 10 or something.
I might be completely wrong about this but the statements somehow sound terribly tragic to me.
When the office said they’ll let students find out about their decisions by June 1st, does that mean the waitlist will be closing in June 1st?
@ccstudent101 what so you mean? It’s supposed to go until June 31st
Look at @anotherdude’s posts on page 5.
i just hope they change things this year and just email everyone when they’re being let go instead of sending snail mail…
Calls are made as spots become available so you guys still have until the end of June, which is a long time so I am sorry. I am from Hawaii and I got my call around 7:15 HST.
When do you guys think the next wave of calls would be?
From what I hear, they do it every week
I read on their website that the deadline to submit bridge year materials/request was today (May 17th), so maybe they will draw more from their waitlist soon after they see how many opt to do the bridge year program.
I wish princeton worked the same way as harvard, apparently H updates the status portal so that applicants can find out rejection/acceptance immediately.
Wow that’s nice
