PW -- I think there's a lot of merit in what you say. Dizzy-son was strongly drawn to P and, while he had nothing bad to say about either H or Y, where he also spent weekends, P really stood out for him. All three are such incredible schools and the competition so fierce that it's probably not an effective use of anyone's time to categorically proclaim one better than another; they probably each have different specialities that differentiate them from one another, just as does any other university.

How do you choose between Cameron Diaz and Naomi Watts? Jennifer Garner and Keira Knightly? There's no bad choice...

I think it's a blessing that there's so much homework right now that no one can really take the time to think about their ED apps ... Speaking of which, where are Zante and Gracilsae?

Buried under homework, that's where! Although I'm trying to keep up with the board as best as I can - can't miss another personal ad for dizzy-son posted by his loving mum! (These always make my day... seriously... I can see my mum doing the same thing for my brother in two years; it makes me laugh.)

or the thought of all those other applications looming through the holiday break that is causing the nausea here
[/quote]
Any apps that needed to be mailed out before the Christmas hols (i.e. due in or before early January) were due in the office today at my school. So while the depository was very frantic today, I am extremely thankful that this is one thing I won't be concerned about over Christmas. Condolences + good luck to your son and everyone else who will!

DO NOT wait to do your apps until you hear from Pton. Not because you might get deferred or anything preposterous like that, but because they are a great way to pass the time! Doing essays, paying application fees...all in good fun.

Hmmm...well paying application fees hasn't been fun so far, haha. However, writing essays (or just staring blankly at the computer, in my case) does pass the time.

Haha! You are so cute! If Dizzy-son gets into P, maybe I should take out an actual personal ad in the Daily Princetonian so I can find the perfect girl to look after him next year! He wouldn't have to know, right?

He and his friends, many who have applied to Ivies, are trying to lead life normally while they wait for their notification. The sheer numbers are just so daunting, so I just have to have my speech ready for Dizzy-son about that. Hopefully you all realize that you are probably more qualified than any high school seniors who have ever gone before you, regardless of where you end up attending, and that the name of your alma mater won't dictate your future success.

bites nails some more

sigh.

Good luck with all the homework -- it's good to keep busy!

My dad is coming up on the 10th to pick up my brother at Princeton for winter break. Do you think if I tagged along, they would let me get my decision?

lol, but they always say "mid december"
I swear, even if you call after they maiil them, they'll tell you mid-december. Princeton adcom makes no promises. Last year nobody knew when they were mailed either, they just started getting the letters. I still believe in Dec. 10th!

well apparently all the other ivies find out online/email on the 10th so i would assume they'd get mailed then or around then too... Maybe, they'll ARRIVE on the 10th... (wishful thinking).

man, now im really getting worried. There were two people from alaska who applied ED... i hope the other person was dumb. and stupid. and a butt. JK, but not really. ;) Hmmmm, I guess I just didnt understand the level of competition there is for these colleges. Man... it's a truly humbling experience to be in the rpesence of such "geniouses." Alright... hw... now..... YES.... umm..... we need to wait just a bit longer....i dont know if i ll make it.... AHHHH!
