Princeton ED Lounge

Was this class before you started getting homeschooled?

Homeschooled: K-9
Tiny parochial school: 10-11
University (technically 'homeschooled'):12 (done in Dec., yay!)

Oh that's so cool! I wish I could be done in December. You're going to Europe aren't you?

Yes...I'm slightly concerned as will just be me going (and for 6 months)...but hey, what an adventure! Wouldn't pass it up for anything...if I go to Princeton, I'll be loaded with stories...some good, and some probably not so good :/

oh man thats so much fun. damn 6 months in Europe. you cant donate blood for the next like decade haha :-X

hah, probably not...I'm sure I'll have to practically strip naked at customs...
"You were in England for 4 months?...Well, miracle you don't have mad cow disease...the bloody Brits..."
"You were in Germany for 2 weeks? Okay, you're now going to be deported."
"You set foot in France? You must be quaruntined immediately!"

I am SO jealous of you, Kebree! I'm going to France for two weeks after graduation with some of my friends from French class but that's about it. Did you plan this trip yourself or was it through a program of sorts?

I'm jealous of all of you who get to go to Europe! I want to go on a tour through all the countries whose languages I can speak, which would rock infinity. Europe's just such an awesome place.

However, in March I get to go to Japan, so I'm learning Japanese, which is way cool. I think it'll be cool to finally get out of the US for once. Sweet.

Not a program (but I gulp haven't done much planning yet though...I have friends in the UK, France, Germany, Holland, and Switzerland, so I'll just stay with them as I move along...I may just sort of plan it while I'm there...add a little to the excitement :) )

That's going to be so fun! You could also stay in youth hostels - when I went on a whirlwind (2 wk) tour of England, Scotland, and Wales a few summers back we hosteled it a few times and it wasn't too bad...

Of course, now that I think of it, in a Scottish hostel the proprietor forced us to eat haggis as a "cultural experience." But if you just avoid the land of the bagpipes you should be okay!

Ugh...bagpipes. Oy vey. rubs temples

oooh, did you see Cardiff? Or Caernarfon Castle?
Where did you go in Scotland?

I actually like bagpipes, but I'm part Scottish :)
I think it has to be in your blood...

lol ANOTHER language, philntex?

I am such Anglophile...Oxford was actually my 1st choice U., haha

I like Scottish tartans...tries desperately to make up for comment haha. Yeah, I've just never had a taste for the sound, but to each his or her own.

Haha, I know, zant. But this one seems to be out of necessity. I mean, it just annoys me to go to a country and not be able to speak at least some of the language. It'll be the sheez.

oh, no prob, everyone I know hates them too. I'm the strange one.

In Wales, we stayed in Abergele as our base for travels around North Wales (it's on the North coast). Caernafon Castle is SO breathtaking - I kept walking around and thinking about how people walked there, centuries ago, and generally indulging myself in medieval fantasies. smile

In Scotland, we went to New Lanark (this is the place with the crazy hostel) w/a stop in Gretna Green (random), and then we stayed in Edinburgh.

Do you know where you're planning on going in England? Are you stopping in Wales or Scotland?

Oh Kebree, I am such an Anglophile too! I tried to convince my mum (haha, yes, I do call her that - case in point) to let me go off to university there, or at least apply to Oxford and Cambridge but she was like: I know you'd never come back if I let you off to England! I definitely plan on living there when I'm older.
