Haha, astrix...I don't know that it's a good thing. But at least we have a few new senior members now, so I don't look quite as odd in comparison. (Congrats to Enco and Shrek)

the senior theses are really long

My interviewer led me to believe that this is not necessarily true - it's more the content than the length. He said he knew someone (a math major) whose thesis was only one page - an insane proof.

My interview said his senior thesis was basically an extension of his junior year project (he was a biology major). All he did was a complete a research project and write it up.

theses are the best part!

but one page is insane garc! did he graduate?

That's weird...when I signed on today 2 of my posts had been deleted.

yeah they deleted the slicmlinc and calcboy duelling threads

yea because those two are out of control and need to have like restraints lol

did he graduate?

I assume so, because I think my interviewer would have mentioned if he didn't - I was asking specificially about the length + time commitment of senior theses.... The way he said it made it sound like although one page was v. short when running to hand yours in next to someone carrying volumes, equal time had been put into it to prove something complex and math-y. (Like "Mathey".... wow, I've gone over the edge in terms of having P-ton on the brain... But I don't think any of us would post here if we hadn't)

Seems like it can be as long as you need/want it to be, but generally the humanities people will write longer ones.

I'm actually kind of excited about it. My interviewer said it was a great experience and he was really glad that princeton made him do it.

yea except i bet while im writing the senior thesis i will be crying haha

Those Columbians just got their decisions! My friend got deferred, but she's glad she wasn't rejected. My guidance counselor called Princeton today and the woman said the decisions have been made and they will be mailed out this week. Thats friday or saturday i guess.

Whoa, really? heart skips a beat
I was resigned to the Monday mailing-date after ilcapo's call...this is crazy; I wish they'd give us a concrete date. (But then it wouldn't be Princeton---the obsolete, snail mail-using Ivy that we all love...)

did you see how many got deferred/rejected? traumatized

I just want it all to end...

i just want all of us to get in...

that would be hot :D

<33 from columbia board! princeton ppl posting on columbia are so sweet, good luck to you all!

...happily.

Thanks, contessa! And major congrats on getting in. Hopefully, we'll end up 1 hour apart =)

looking at the other boards, though...man, the segregation is already beginning. That's pretty much why I came back. We only have a few days left of the whole "together" aspect. Craziness.

EDIT: hehe, yeah, kebree. hopefully, anyways.

Phil: I don't think we'll have as much of a problem because our notifications are staggered, not available all at once. It will allow us to accept each person's decision as it comes along---and we won't have everyone feeling ecstatic/crushed at the same time. I think that may be the reason for the immediate segregation...plus I'd guess that we're a little more tight-knit, having spent way too much time on CC. :) I think we're the only board with any senior members---and we've got 4 or 5 (plus more soon-to-be).
So cheers to a united board.
