I know, there isn’t a wrong answer for that question.
Being completely honest, my favorite movie is “3 Idiots”
It’s a great movie and I’m sure that anyone who has seen it will agree with me.
My concern is that if someone has not seen it, it sounds like a “idiot movie”, so, what should I do?
Last year my S elaborated (briefly) on most of his responses. Can you sum up in a few words why you love the movie in a way that cohesively links it to the rest of your application?
3 Idiots is a really great movie! Lol tried to get my parents to watch it with me after I watched it for school (they made everyone at my high school watch it one year; I forget why). I don’t think Princeton will knock the choice of movie based on its title. You will presumably explain briefly what the movie is about as part of your response.
I put down Inglourious Basterds last year and had some of the same concerns, but it turned out fine (though I suppose it’s much more mainstream that 3 Idiots). I also didn’t explain my choices at all. I think that as long as you put down a genuine answer it won’t have any measurable effect on their decision–they’re really just fun questions to get a sense of your personality.
