FYI no weeding out happens prior to the interview level except for incomplete applications. As many names as possible are given to available alumni interviewers who do not have access to your application. A very good friend of ours who graduated from Princeton last year is starting to interview within the next few weeks and I believe they have recruited other new interviewers but there will most certainly not be enough to cover 29,000+ applicants so try to relax about it if you don’t get an offer to interview. It truly means nothing about your application.
I’m ok with not having an interview, but I haven’t gotten an interview offer from any of the four Ivies I applied to. Maybe I’m just unlucky.
@whizkid98 Do you live in a sparsely-populated area?
@aBitOfLuck No, Southeast Michigan. There are lots of good schools here, so I’m sure there are a lot of Ivy applicants.
Maybe the number of applicants overwhelmed the alumni.
@whizkid98 I am also from Southeast Michigan and I just got my interview today. Maybe keep an eye open for an email soon?
Out of the three Ivies I applied to, I was only contacted for an interview at one of them, so I’m still waiting on Princeton and one other. Is it worth emailing them that I haven’t been contacted yet, or is it probable that it wasn’t a mistake and they’re simply too overwhelmed with applicants this year?
I was just contacted, so I would wait a bit longer.
I had my interview today! A nice talk for more than 2,5 h
I got an email about a week ago from Princeton telling me to expect to be contacted by this person for an interview but I haven’t yet and I just had a Cornell interview and my person said it’s kinda late (for Cornell at least) like her deadline is February 15th so I was like…lol
Had my interview today! It was my last one, and it went great! The interviewer was so honest and intriguing, and I loved how relaxed it was. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting on interviews!
I just had my interview yesterday. My interviewer mentioned that alumni are being overwhelmed with the number of students and are all being asked to take on additional interviews, so if you haven’t been contacted yet, don’t lose hope.
Yeah, my interviewer also had a ton scheduled. Very nice guy and a relaxed interview.
So Princeton emailed me about 3 weeks ago saying I would be contacted shortly for an interview. I waited about a week and then emailed the guy whose email they provided. After 1.5 weeks of no reply, I emailed Princeton inquiring as to what I should do. It’s been 6 days and still no reply. Any advice??
@OhPearl Similar thing happened with me. I just waited it out and got contacted by my interviewer, although it seems pretty late now so I would try to call them? That might be your best bet.
@frenchtoastlover The original email they provided didn’t have his number, would it be too creepy to call him from one I found on his company site?
@OhPearl Oh, my bad. I meant call Princeton about it lol. It might be a tad strange if you did call him directly…but that’s just me.
@OhPearl I was in a similar situation earlier, and Princeton told me to wait; at this point, I would think you won’t be interviewed.
Did the email contain your interviewer’s email address?
My D was contacted early this morning for an interview to be held over the phone on Saturday. For those of you still waiting for an interview, there is still hope!
@frenchtoastlover Oh oops I agree lol. Yea I think I will do that. Thanks for the advice!
@aBitOfLuck Ahh!! Do you know when the interview reports are due? and yes they did and I emailed him but he never responded.
