@aBitOfLuck I am typically pessimistic as well
@TheWaffleMan149 Out of curiosity (don’t feel compelled to answer) are you from the East Coast? I only ask because so many applicants to the Ivies are, yet so many hail from all over the US and the world.
@aBitOfLuck Indeed I am! Are you?
@TheWaffleMan149 No, I reside in the Midwest; hopefully that is desirable lol
@TheWaffleMan149 I still am becoming accustomed to having to manually type the screen name in order to reply to a specific user; in Twitter it is conveniently automatic.
lol I dont have a Twitter @aBitOfLuck
Omg I’m reading your conversation @aBitOfLuck and @TheWaffleMan149 and you guys sound so classy and intellectual like you belong at Princeton, and then there’s me laying like a sloth on my couch and eating cold pizza
@anon9362 Though I can’t speak for @TheWaffleMan149 I can say that my sentence structure and vocabulary improve significantly when I am forced to type or write my thoughts :))
Same @aBitOfLuck
Lol @anon9362 I wish I belonged at Princeton, but that is certainly not going to happen with a 97% rejection/waitlist rate, not having created a cure for cancer, not having Sommali refugees for parents, etc.
btw, I was just like a sloth at breakfast eating a waffle. It was a good waffle
I’m actually the same way @aBitOfLuck
Ugh I wish I tried harder and got better grades
I wish I had not waited to take one of my Subject Tests until a year and a half after I had finished the course :((
SAME
Hey, everyone :). I’m from Mongolia and plan to pursue a career in materials xD.
My whole application, with financial aid and all, is complete and under review. All that’s left is an interview with a '15 alumna who is located in Japan. The Skype call is tomorrow.
Princeton is the only uni to offer an interview in my area; the rest just waived it, so I’m pretty excited ^_^. I’m glad that the uni tries to make interviews available to all applicants.
How were yours?
@TerriAri I’m in the States and still waiting for an official offer lol. I wish you the best of luck!
@aBitOfLuck The best of luck? Not a bit ? Thanks!!
Anyway, I’m guessing I’m one of very few to apply to Princeton from here, so they have people to spare. Hope you get offered an interview!
@TerriAri Thanks! I wish you a bit of luck as well
@thewaffleman149 Obviously you haven’t been “weeded out.” Princeton tries to offer everyone an interview if possible, and the names go out to alum before they ever OPEN your application. So unless they weeded you out based on your name (You didn’t apply as “the waffle man,” did you? LOL!), I think you know that you weren’t purposely chosen as a candidate to not be asked to interview.
@desie1 Maybe I should have???
It is the eternal pessimist in me talking!
@TheWaffleMan149 Well, it is understandable that anyone would be pessimistic about Princeton - it’s going to be a low regular decision rate. But “expect nothing, hope for the best” would be a good way to approach these next seven weeks. Don’t count on it, but if it happens, you’ll celebrate! But i’m sure you’ll end up somewhere great regardless.
@desie1 Thanks! That is what I am trying to do
