My parents immigrated to the States two years before I was born. Istanbul is AMAZING!

I literally just watched taken 2 and it was in Istanbul. I think that kind of movie isn’t supposed to make you want to go there, but it did the opposite for me. #dead So many places to go, not enough time and money
@MijoChbulkan Yeah, I’m considered domestic, so financial aid is allllll good. Let’s have a CC field trip to Istanbul. I’ll be the tour guide! (Seriously, though, save your pennies. It’s sooooo worth it!)
@schroscat if I don’t get into an ivy, I’m going to UVA and will actually have some money lol. Ivy me is too poor for that, but we’ll see what happens
@MijoChbulkan My only shot at a private university are the ivies because I qualify for full aid

@schroscat that’s lucky though. I’m too poor for full tuition and too rich for financial aid. My FA officer all but told us not to even apply for aid lol. But I can’t afford the costs

@MijoChbulkan There’s really nothing to lose if you apply for FA. The Ivies are generally pretty great with FA up to a certain income. I did my research a few months back before applying. But I get you; 95% of my school is really well off, so I’ve seen how horrible FA is sometimes.
@schroscat So that’s why it’s ivy or uva for me. I don’t hate UVA, but it’s a little too same old same old. I want to have more experiences.
@MijoChbulkan I was accepted to SBU, which is a great school, but I would have to commute…and that’s the last thing I want to do. SUNY Geneseo gave me a decent scholarship…but…when Princeton looks like literal Hogwarts, I can’t think of anything else.

@MijoChbulkan Ding, ding, ding! If you had asked me in October, yes: Harvard. Now, I’m not so sure. After being exposed to so many schools, I don’t know…after this point, I really don’t have the luxury to choose between schools. It’s whichever school accepts me (if I am accepted). Princeton is within my top three.

@MijoChbulkan Honestly, my deferral to Harvard really opened my eyes…I doubt I would have applied if I was accepted. (Then again, I’m not too sure if this eye-opening moment will be worth it in the end.) ARRRGh College.
@schroscat I feel you… I applied ED (!!!) to Penn then realized it wasn’t even my (clear) top choice (3-way tie for 1st) because I was slightly relieved when I was deferred… My life is chaotic.
