Does Princeton send likely letters? And if so, when?
@FlyingLark - Only for athletes and Questar applicants.
I guess it’s best not to think too much about LLs…most of us don’t get it, and it just makes you more anxious if you keep worrying about it. Let’s keep hoping for the best and wait for March 31!
The more I wait, the more I think I don’t have a slight chance of getting into Princeton. Sometimes I wonder why I even applied…
I saw that the common app allowed me to tick an option for sending an art supplement with the application. I chose engineering as a major but I decided to send the art stuff to boost my chances. I could be considered a talented artist (Ive won various competitions, had my art work exhibited, started various community art projects and am always in charge of set designs and painting for school plays.)
Do you think my art supplement will increase my chances ever so slightly? I know my ACT and Subject Test scores are not the best but I did the IB and I have a decent score in that.
I got flat out rejected by both Stanford and MIT. This is making me nervous for my chances with the Ivies. :((
@rkn0706 Probably, but it’s still a sub-10%. You will still most likely be rejected, just as I and most everyone in this thread.
Reality is great! So stop worrying and go enjoy life for two weeks.
Got likely letter from Cornell but waitlisted by MIT and Caltech; what’s my chance at Princeton? At this point Princeton is my first choice now…
@SD2020 Exactly what I’m feeling. I hate this ~X(
@rkn0706 I’m on the same boat as you. Apparently arts supplements only help if you’re scouting-worthy, at least that’s what I’m told. It won’t hurt your application.
I’m not expecting anything at this point. It was a miracle I got into Georgetown. Princeton’s just been my number one for a very long time, so all I’m doing now is mentally preparing for the 31st.
Hey, y’all! I never seem to get much correspondence from Princeton. I got an email asking for my financial aid application, but don’t receive hardly as much spam from them about every little thing as I do from my non-ivy colleges. Is this normal?
@schroscat Well I wouldn’t even mind being “scouted” hahaha
@sarcophagusjones I got one too, and I am not thinking much of it to be honest.
I hadn’t got the email for the financial aid form that is required apart from the CSS profile until a few days had passed since the deadline They were like, “This is required! Fill this! Why haven’t you filled this out yet???” xD I filled it (and let them know that they should have informed me about it earlier ), and then asked them if it was okay that I was late, and they told me it’s alright, they would take it into consideration as anyway, it won’t be affecting the admission process. That was the last email exchange I had with Princeton, except an update on extracurriculars, which I don’t think would be accepted, as I sent it just a couple of days ago.
How does Princeton notify us of their decision? Do they send out an email? Their applicant website is quite different to most other universities I’ve applied to, all it says on mine is application complete (or something along those lines)
@vossari Princeton uploads their decisions onto a portal. I applied SCEA but didn’t receive an email about my decision (although they did email me about the release date a week prior to decisions). The website we used to view decisions was https://notify.princeton.edu/, but that seems to be down at the moment.
@azwu331 Thanks for letting me know! So we have to log in on March 31st to check?
Is anyone having this message in their tracking system?
Checklist information is currently not available. The checklist information will be available to applicants between September 01, 2015 and March 15, 2016.
I’m getting the same @Puchku .
There is another part of the portal that has a link to a View Decision page
