Princeton RD 2020 thread

Assuming as IVY applicants you’re all very competitive have any of you been WAITLISTED or rejected from other schools and based on your understanding of past years how predictive is that of getting into IVies.

I was rejected by UChicago and Northwestern…for highly competitive schools I don’t think it’s too indicative of Ivy League outcomes. I know a girl who was rejected by Chicago and wait listed by Northwestern but she got into Cornell. It’s such a crapshoot, that being rejected from any competitive school shouldn’t be too inicative of Ivy Day outcomes!

Well, to be fair, UChicago and Cornell are on different tiers. It’s normal to get rejected at the former and be accepted at the latter, so that situation doesn’t have much to say about the arbitrariness of the admissions process.

The whole randomness is so hard.
My kids stats would be fine anywhere( I think) but still you just don’t know.
SAT 2320, ACT 34, SAT2 Math 2 = 790, Chem = 780, World Hx= 800, UW GPA= 4.0, by end of Junior year 8 AP’s (five 5’s and three 4’s)
Great recommendations.
Got waitlist Univ Chicago and Pomona
Rejected at Middlebury.

Accepted ND and Harvey Mudd. Waitlisted UChicago. Rejected Northwestern

Rejected by MIT, Caltech. Deferred by Harvard. Waitlisted by UChicago.

My record till now sucks, but I really hope things turn out well for Princeton :stuck_out_tongue:

( Although I don’t think it means much, I did get the PFAA mail in late February, and a confirmatory mail on submission. A few days ago, I added an update to my application; around March 15, I guess, and they accepted it and added that to my file too. :slight_smile: Let’s hope these are positive signs, although I don’t really want to pull my hopes up too high, it’s always nice to dream till the D-Day :smiley: :smiley: )

I got an email a couple of weeks ago about financial aid documents missing and I turned everything in the other week. However I have not heard anything back from them since.
I’ve also been accepted recently to both WashU and Northwestern :slight_smile: so even if Ivy decisions don’t work out I’ll hopefully be able to attend another great school.

@blazedragon how did you give them an update

This is probably a really silly question but about all the financial aid email thing, it only applies to people who applied for financial aid right? So if I didn’t apply for financial aid I wouldn’t get an email and so I obviously can’t predict my chances off that can I?

Thanks in advance.

@LasagneMoodAF Yeah I would think so. It’s clearly a financial aid system thing, and you wouldn’t get any emails if you weren’t in the system/haven’t applied for financial aid.

@hiddenfalls ah thats a relief. Thanks and good luck!

What time does Princeton RD come out?

@CharliGibbons March 31, 5:00 PM EST. About 11 days and 18 hours left…

@mpstar0509 Thanks!

Sorry to revive the over analyzing of the whole financial aid thing. I haven’t received anything financial aid related from Princeton since January (which was my PFAA confirmation). :frowning:

We’re down to less than 1,000,000 seconds!!

Oh gosh… I wasn’t that neurotic about decisions before but after surfing these threads I am a changed being :)) :-S

@zeedoq haha I know right!! I can’t tell if this site is amazing or not because it’s made me even more obsessive than I was before!
