@exl028 They didn’t respond to you? Are you sure?
@APersonsHistory for sure no one replied. I called once and the line got cut off but when I asked I said oh I didn’t receive a reply and they said oh you shouldn’t have and then I was transferred to someone who checked. maybe I didn’t get in so they didn’t bother. I emailed back in first week of march.
@exl028 I wasn’t supposed to have received a reply? I sent an update a couple of days before the end of February and received a response from an admission’s officer. (So, relatively close to your update day.) Also, don’t be hard on yourself. It probably doesn’t mean anything.
@APersonsHistory maybe it’s a good sign for you but I didn’t. Or its based on geographic location so some people will reply and some won’t. Idk.
@APersonsHistory thanks! I called yesterday and they were super nice. I told them that I was a gates millennium finalist and I’m publishing a science paper and they said it was available for an admission officer to see
I called today to update my arts portfolio and they were super friendly! The nicest of all the schools I called today. Ugh makes me want to go there even more. I hate that they’re so incredibly selective sometimes!
@admitmemaybe Oh good for you! Do you mind if I ask what sort of update you made to your arts portfolio? I wanted to update it too but thought it was too late…
Also, did it sound like the update would be considered for your admission?
@Wendelstein I finished the last 4 pieces of my exhibition (which say they first 3/4 of) and I wanted them to see the completed exhibition “set list” so I asked if I could update my portfolio and they said no but they’d be happy to look if I could email pictures in to admissions.
Oh I see. Princeton really is friendly unlike a few others (although it probably depends on the person as well). Do you know if you were talking to an admissions officer?
Yes, I called Princeton and then picked an extension to Admissions so I assume it was an AO @Wendelstein
So even though we were able to update… Does that mean decisions haven’t been 100% made?
@mwm2020 - They would probably never say “it’s too late to update” because that would give away the status of the committee, which they want to keep private most likely.
Just sitting here reminiscing about the day I sent princeton a letter of recommendation with “for Dartmouth” at the top. Whoops
What time do the decisions usually come out
@weexist 5 pm EDT
Should we update colleges (in general) with National Merit Scholar standing? On my app, I put semi-finalist, but I found out that I’m a finalist.
@FlyingLark there’s no harm done, it is impressive so why not. It could be too late but there’s no harm done in calling them and/or emailing them
@FlyingLark Yeah, like @vossari said, you can send an email. They would probably reply, and even if decisions are made already, they might still consider your update, as it is of considerable importance. If they do not confirm receiving your email, or do not reply in affirmation of updating your file, you can always call them and ask.
@Flyinglark - I didn’t bother. 90% of semi-finalists become finalists. I’m sure the colleges are fully aware of the probability.
Hey did everyone get the notification email at 12:30?
