@oawnstar not a bad response! Good on her for not taking anyone’s side
@oawnstar do u go to a private or public school?
@Honeyraven I’d think you’re Ravenclaw if I looked at your username
Not too much time now guys…
@blazedragon I’m not sure about a late-February email, but the general consensus is that a mid-late March one usually means something positive. Of course any email is positive because it shows their continued interest in us, but to what extent, we can’t know for certain.
@blazedragon It doesn’t necessarily mean you are accepted. It could also mean that you are waitlisted.
I think any email shows something is missing in our application because they want such materials even for students they’re going to reject. We can’t know what is happening in the admission office and we should think positive but not misinterpret such indications. For example, I received such emails from USC but got rejected at the end.
I really like P’s admissions staff because they were the only courteus college staff that sent " your app is complete now so we would bla bla"
I hope we all get in!
@Monster1997 the difference is, Princeton actually looks at each applicant in a holistic approach. Plus, the past threads have indicated that any email from Princeton about missing application or documents has correlation.
I couldn’t find a single person who got the emails and was rejected (from the past threads, at least).
@Monster1997 No that is not true for Princeton, and I have reiterated many times that I, along with some other applicants on this thread, have NOT sent in all our financial aid documents, and yet have not received a single email from Princeton’s Financial Aid Department. They are asking for documents from specific applicants, and the thread I linked in the last page from last year indicates a correlation.
Of course, it’s probably better if you do not believe me so that you’re not more anxious about all this.
@Californian10 but don’t you believe lots of applicants provide them with complete applications? So lots of admitted students do not receive any email at all. Anyway, I agree with you that it’s a kind of postie indication.
The weirdest part about the missing pfaa application email was the fact that it was already two weeks over the deadline, and they stated that my application would still be accepted with no penalty.
…
I got the totally same email from Columbia and it was about some test scores. They stated that my application will still be considered with no penalty. I got it in march 17, but do you really think it has any specific meaning ? Weird
@Monster1997 We don’t know what it means for the other Ivy League schools, we only know this is true for Princeton because past years’ Princeton threads have demonstrated this correlation. And if you aren’t missing anything and they didn’t send you an email you shouldn’t worry because they have no reason to send you an email if you aren’t missing anything.
Also for everyone, the correlation has only been shown with people getting “Missing Tax Form” emails in mid-late March, not “Missing Financial Aid Application” emails in February. But let me reiterate that if you sent in tax forms before mid-March then you shouldn’t worry yourself to death! IF YOU AREN’T MISSING ANYTHING THERE’S NO REASON FOR THEM TO SEND YOU AN EMAIL.
Also guys, try and log onto this site. It will probably only start working on the 31st though. It’s a pretty good way to find out if your portal crashes or something.

@PartyNextDoor Lol that’s what I meant. Getting rejected from similar schools, has pretty much given me an indication of what might happen here too. In my last post, I did not sound as hopeful as I am now But now, even if I really hope to get admitted in Princeton, I know for sure that the decision has nothing to do with the particular email, and like I stated earlier, any correlation from previous years is just a coincidence for me.
@FiveFactorial anyway, I don’t have any hope for Ivy day since my dream school was stanford and I got rejected, especially when one of my friends with almost same conditions got in last year. Hope Princeton will work out for me bc it’s my third choice. Being an international student makes the situation even worse.
@Monster1997 Don’t worry, Stanford was my dream school too, and I got waitlisted yesterday (which is basically just a soft rejection lol). It sucks, I know. But Stanford has THE lowest acceptance rate, and you can look at past decision threads and see that a lot of people get accepted to HYP, but receive a rejection from Stanford. Everything will work out the way it’s supposed to and you’ll end up being happy wherever you go
