Does anyone know how much weight Princeton puts on the “your favorite” portion of the Common App?
@oawnstar, what were the approx GPA’s and test scores of those 5 applicants?
@sweetcottoncandy
I got Princeton. My brother got Princeton as well and my father Yale.
@IfnousWHO hahha that’s nicee I guess I should go make my brothers do them as well lol it’s nice to see that people are actually trying them out
Hope we all have good news on our portal this Thursday! (i’m so scared though :-S )
@bluepaint1 good question! I’m curious to know too but from what I’ve been told not too muc, they’re just trying to get a better feel for you as a person
I really hope they were able to see past a couple of my answers…I had no idea what to put for some of them so the answers are really lame. Princeton, love me DX
@sweetcottoncandy I also got Princeton, but that gives me such false hope since I know I’m not getting in. Especially after this entire email conspiracy.
I can’t believe I actually got Princeton on that test… if only I could get in!
I got UPenn…again…for the third time
I got Princeton, but my dad got Penn
@randomcollege20 What email conspiracy? What did I miss?
I got Princeton too haha. I guess I made the right choice when applying to college.
@IfnousWHO the whole if you didn’t complete all you FA documents (assuming you applied for FA) and got an email in mid-late March titled something along the lines of “missing tax documents” that it’s a positive sign (either acceptance or waitlist). But if you either didn’t apply for FA or sent in all your documents then obviously you shouldn’t have received the email so there is nothing to worry about
@bluepaint1 thanks!
I did get an email mid March on missing docs but it was for Dartmouth and Penn ( which was wierd because it’s the same info provided try IDOC/CSS, Etc) however not sure it means much as I did I not get missing docs message from other Ivys which I have received LL (Columbia and Brown).
Have any international students got the missing tax document email?
I got Princeton on the quiz! Which I’m glad because I only applied to one other Ivy and I was genuinely being honest, not trying to get Princeton. Happy Easter to all those who celebrate!
Another trend in past years seems to be that those who got the emails once were accepted/waitlisted, while twice or more meant acceptance.
Hey what were some of your guy’s favourite things for that part of the application? Favourite word? Favourite book?
Also I got Princeton on the quiz.
Okay, but this whole email thing, even if we can see a correlation from CC posters on acceptance/email, isn’t CC only a small slice of the 30,000 applicants and eventual 2000 or so students that they let in? I mean from the small chunk of students we’ve seen over past years, there seems to be a correlation, but even they show that it isn’t 100 % accurate, and we still aren’t seeing what happened with everyone who was admitted/rejected.
@Honeyraven Although I don’t want to admit it since it would mean a rejection for me, the whole email idea does make sense. I didn’t mail in anything and they haven’t sent me any emails about missing documents, so I would assume it doesn’t matter because I’ve been rejected. As for the ones who have received an email or two, I would then assume it is because their information is needed since they have either been accepted or wait listed. Again, this could possibly be false, but it does make sense. A part of me still hopes that this is not the case, though.
