heres a greater truth for you: ucb is lowly trash that houses stanford rejects. why does ucb even consider itself a rival of stanford? its just riding the coattails of its graduate programs. accept it. ppl just lie about how it costs too much to make themselves feel better about their rejection.

umm i know 3 seniors who got into stanford EA and say they're gonna pass on for ucla and uc berkeley...money is a bigger issue than you think for some families. my sister passed up on brown PLME, harvard, and more for cal cause of $$ and distance from home

Why are so many people offended that UCLA sent out the Washington Monthly article with the acceptance packet? Why do people seem offended by it?

umm....berkeley is full of stanford rejects......that is why we are the #1 public school in the world, school rankings consistenly place berkeley ahead of UCLA, and Berkeley Engineering undergraduate programs are in the top 3 within their fields.....and all our "bruin" companions can do is complain?

and last thing....UCLA was founded as an So-Cal extension of CAL.....and it will always be a "extension" of CAL.....everything of UCLA is a copy of CAL (their mascot, school colors, even their way of UCLA is similiar to how CAL is written)......yaddamean??

I wouldn't say I'm offended it just seems so pathetic that they're trying to attract students through some dumb news article that has it ranked at number 2. They highlight in bold all the UCLA mentions (which means minimal bolding) and the article isn't even really about UCLA being so good.

Anyone have a link to the Princeton Review source (not the Washington Monthly article)? Gotta see the methodology to see what they're ranking. Doesn't smell right, though-

mosharma134 your nose is so high up in the air that your causing trouble with the normal air traffic. i say these things sarcastically while you hold on to dear life with your arrogance. you speak as if ucla is below you because you attend ucb and you and the stanford reject whatiscollege go around and tout your school as if its student body is better than another uc, but guess what: the entering student bodies are not better at one than the other... yaddamean??

^^^^Just in case you didn't know, sarcasm works alot better when said aloud. Going off like you did is not sarcasm and makes you look like a kook.

yeah, about the princeton review rating: are UCLA professors really that bad? They got ranked really low by the students. I always thought of UCLA professors as being equal to UCB professors in terms of conveying the material, but PR made it seem as though UCLA profs were terrible.

Do we really have to have the Berekely argument Every. Single. Time?

Seriously?

If I wanted to go to Berkeley, I would have applied there. I have no interest in Cal and these stupid ratings have absolutely no bearing on my life.

NO ONE is going to look at me when I'm applying for jobs and say, "well you graduated from UCLA with triple honors and are extremely experienced in the field, but USNEWS says that Cal is better so peace out, yo!"
