Hi everyone! So I am a high school senior and I love both Princeton and Brown. Obviously, these schools are among the most selective universities in the nation. Princeton offers a single-choice early action deadline and is NONBINDING. Meanwhile, Brown offers early decision, which is BINDING. I was to apply early, whether action or decision to whichever option would benefit me the most in the application process. Do you think that applying SCEA to Princeton or applying ED to Brown would increase my chances in getting in to the school? If so, which one would raise my chances higher? Thanks!

Most students who got in had great profile. and 70% of those had some sort of hooks. that means it is very likely that you’ll get differed so, both are same (I am assuming you have high stats). lol. because last year, 90% of those who had SAT in the 2300-2400 range were differed in the regular decision pool.

It is incredibly difficult to say whether you will have a better chance getting in with Brown ED or Princeton SCEA. There are just so many factors: the rest of the applicant pool, how many athletes each school needs to recruit, which intended majors schools want you to have, etc. There is really know way to tell.

The real question is whether you want to bind or not. If you got into Brown ED, are you fully prepared to attend? Do you like it better than Princeton? If you do not know if Brown is your first choice, then I would not apply there ED.
