Princeton University Class of 2022 SCEA Applicants Thread

@ktengann

I live in Wisconsin too, I just figured because you had both Marquette and UWM.

Just had my interview. It was very good but it was only 20 mins, much shorter than I had expected. Mine was a phone call btw, that maybe one of the reasons for it being short.

See, what did I tell you. :slight_smile:

Just had my interview. It lasted for an hour and a half. Although it was really different from what I expected (a question answer session) it went much better than I thought it would. It seems as though the interviewers are only trying to help your admissions process rather than harm it which made the interview much more relaxed and personal.

Good for you, @Anonymous1418, that you had a pleasant interview. Good luck to you!

Hey, sorry if I’m late to the party, applicant from Central Europe here, should I be worried that I haven’t contacted for an interview yet?

OMG I thought I was going to be forgotten by Princeton…but I just received the email saying I should be contacted soon!! Apparently my interviewer is in Beijing and I think the interview is going to face to face!!!

My daughter has her face-to-face this Saturday. She is excited. Good luck to everyone.

Has anyone heard when the early decision will be released? I’ve heard Dec. 7, 8 and 12. My daughter is stressing that it might be during her mid-term exam week.

@MayBlvyMomma The Princeton website says mid-December, so probably anywhere from December 10-20th.

@MayBIvyMomma I have seen you post comments in EA for other Ivies. Just a question, did you apply EA or RD to those other schools because Princeton (and some others you have commented on) are SCEA and REA. As for Princeton SCEA, you can only apply EA to other Public Universities…You are aware of that, right?

I just sent my ACT score to Princeton. They already have my SAT score but my ACT score is far better than the SAT score. Do you think my ACT score will make it to them before they evaluate my application?

The average for Princeton is 1460 for new sat. Any thoughts on why it’s lower than a 1500?

How long after you received an email from Princeton about an opportunity to interview were you all contacted? I received mine a week ago but still havent heard anything.

@nillupa

Like all its peers, certain hooks contribute to such average, i.e., URM, FGLI (first generation low income), recruited athletes, development cases, politically well connected, children of celebrities, etc. If you’re none of these, you’d be wise to compare yours with the above 75th percentile scores, NOT with the “average.”

I don’t think Princeton’s average new sat score can be 1460. Their 25th percentile is 1480 and the 75th percentile is 1600.

Ahh, I still haven’t gotten anything about interviews yet and I’m freaking out, I live literally 10 mins away from Princeton.

@pu2022hopeful

I would strongly urge against that. Personally, if I don’t see anything by next week I will probably call the Princeton office and ask what to do.
Maybe someone has had a different experience?

Typically the interviewers consist of lawyers, doctors and business people who are extremely busy with their professions so their late response isn’t uncommon at all. In fact, it is very common. They all know what the deadline is, however, so give them another week.
