Princeton University Class of 2022 SCEA Applicants Thread

Did my interview yesterday…screwed up totally. My essays are really nice but the interview sorta made me lose faith especially when Princeton accepts like one person from mainland China in early round every year

Is it common practice to send your AP scores before applying? I haven’t sent my scores to Princeton because I’ve always been told that they just look at them after you’ve chosen to enroll to determine what credits you get, but now I’m hearing that a lot of other people I know have already sent scores to different places. I’m not sure if what I did is normal or if I missed out on a big opportunity.

EDIT: To further clarify, I haven’t even self-reported my scores. I completely missed it on the common app. I don’t know if I should be panicking.

It depends on the school, but at Princeton they ask for you to self-report instead of officially sending AP scores, so if you didn’t self-report, I would send them through the test agency ASAP

Alright, thank you. I didn’t even know self-reporting was a thing–I honestly thought the testing section of the common app was only for SAT, ACT, and TOEFL-type tests. I rushed my scores to Princeton and I’m also going to send them an email.

I just hope it reaches them before they make a decision about my application–I did pretty well on them.

Does anyone know a date when we’ll receive our admission decision? I know it’s mid December but I’m freaking out without a real date to wait for

Wait…What’s a “Likely Letter”?!? I got an email telling me to meet with an alumni interviewer. Dos that mean I’m likely?

Do we have any idea when they’ll be doing notifications? In 2012 it was 12/18, In 2015 it was at 3pm on 12/16, Last Year I think it was 12/15 .Those were a Tuesday Wednesday and a Thursday, so there’s no way to predict when they’ll let us know!!

This time 12/15 is a Friday so if we don’t receive anything by Friday… the weekend will be long.

@JordyTheTiger

No. I think Likely Letters only come out for regular decisions people, but may come out early for athletes. They are mainly sent to athletes and are fairly explicit in saying that you are…well…“likely.”

You received an invitation to interview, something given to everyone based on availability of alumni. They have only a modicum of weight, but should still be taken.

No

Unless they’re planning on changing, Princeton does not send out Likely Letters to applicants who are not athletic recruits. The other 7 Ivy League schoolsdo, but only athletes get Likely Letters in the SCEA/ED round.

Oops, typo. Meant the opposite, thanks for catching that though ^

Just had my interview and it went great! Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better interviewer. We got along very well, we were actually laughing a lot and the atmosphere was super nice (even though it was a Skype interview). He also told me to keep him updated about the decision I receive and to email him with any further questions:)

Still waiting on any signs of life from my interviewer. It’s been about a week since he first contacted me, and since then he hasn’t responded to my messages.

did anyone submit a music supplement with their app? if so, have you heard anything about it?

@lenpad123

They don’t give you any feedback on your music supplement.

@TiggerDad thanks

Hey guys! Does anybody get an email asking to fill out your financial aid? I got it yesterday. What does this email mean if it means anything?

@sospas from what I could find on other threads, the people who received such emails were typically accepted or wait listed. Since wait listing isn’t an option in the early round, it sounds like good news for you to me! Potential congrats on your potential acceptance!

Now I kind of wish that I hadn’t turned everything in!
