Princeton University Class of 2022 SCEA Applicants Thread

Question!! On the Applicants Portal it has all the information about receiving transcripts, test scores, etc- how do I know they received my first quarter grades? My school sent them, and apparently they delivered, but nothing shows up on my portal. Also, how do we know Princeton received arts supplements? I didn’t get any notification or confirmation

You can just call the admission office. At least that’s what I did.

I am planning on submitting a science research paper that I submitted for a competition.

hey guys! do you think the admissions officers have made the majority of their decisions already?

probably, but they’re asking some applicants for their first quarter grades still

I’m I the only stupid person who thought it was mandatory to submit 1st quarter grades by the deadline, and filled out the entirety of the Financial Aid forms? :frowning:

@idekanymore1 Do counselors get this email? I never got a notification asking for first quarter grades. Should I be worried?

@ZetaIntegration How did you submit first quarter grades by Nov. 1st? I think you’re supposed to fill the financial aid info by the deadline so I think you’re good.

@anonymous1418 My counselor didnt get an email either… idk dw about it… all we can do now is wait

I just had a meeting with my counselor. She got an email and a personal call from an admissions counselor asking for my current grades too! Don’t know if this is good or bad either but certainly still exciting nonetheless!

Part of me thinks that they would use current grades to decide between accept/defer, but my mom thought that it could be between defer/denial… Guess we’ll see in two weeks.

@mediokra Part of me thinks that they would use current grades to decide between accept/defer:
I would agree, how was you grades/GPA/test scores at SCEA admittance time? Improved?
Sounds promising! GL

They also requested my grades!

@mediokra @HelloThereHola If you don’t mind me asking, does your school run on a quarter/trimester system? I’m just trying to figure some details out.

will it be a good idea to email the admissions office to ask if they need any more details like my senior year grades?

I never specifically asked my counselor to send my first quarter grades, but Princeton never contacted me about them. I’m guessing that either:

  1. She sent them without me having to ask (phew!)
  2. Princeton has decided that they don’t need to look at them (uh-oh…)

I feel like they would only ask for Q1 grades if they think need to see how you’re doing in tough senior courses… not having them requested could also mean that they’re sure you’re doing well

According to Princeton’s website

“If I am applying early, do I need to submit first quarter and trimester grades from my senior year in high school?
Yes, if possible, please ask your college counselor to submit any senior grades if your high school has them available.”

https://admission.princeton.edu/faqs#early-action

They ask for q1 grades from everyone, regardless of application status.

@orgooo That’s what I was thinking before, but my grades have been really consistent since freshman year, so I have no clue why they would be curious about my first quarter grades. This seemed to be true with some others in the past too

@Ajohn That makes sense too, but most people haven’t been contacted about first quarter grades

@calculess My school only uses semester grades, so my counselor provided current progress grades.

@BigApple2018 I have been very consistent over my high school career. My current grades reflect my history well. My grades from the past three years average to 102.5, and this year’s average is a 106.2 so far.

Because of my consistency, @orgooo , I wouldn’t think they would be worried about my current performance. Then again, you can never know the admission office’s thought process.

Very impressive and again a great sign! Best of Luck!

This is so stressful. I really hope that it doesn’t mean too much if they didn’t ask for my first quarter grades. Good luck to everyone regardless!
